Okay so last year I got married (gained 15lbs), then 5 weeks ago had a baby girl (add about another 10lbs).

I use to run two miles every other day but got away from that and now its getting a little to cold outside for me to run... It would probably take me about 20-30 minutes to run the two miles and doing push ups and sit ups that I use to do.

I need some kind of work out routine I can do that will keep me in shape (just tone not bulk) and stop me from becoming a blob... I have the P90x at home but I leave for work a 5:30am and when I get home I watch the baby... I tried waking up at 3:50am to start doing the P90x but after having the baby I am just worn out, and find it really hard to wake up that early.

Does anyone have any workout routines they do that doesn't involve free weights (don't have room for them) and can be done within 30 minutes or so to help get tone and lose weight? Or should I stop being a baby and just wake up at 3:50am to do the P90x?

Exercise Bike?

If you use it properly you'll be able to get a good workout in 30min, do you have room for one?

Running seems like your only option for aerobics if you can't work out at home

If you already saw the following suggestion on another thread, I apologize. But, here goes...

If you work in a tall office building, do you have a stairwell where you could work out? Start at the ground floor, and run up to the top floor and back down again. Do it three or four times, and you have your workout with good cardio.

This assumes you don't have crowded stairwells in your building.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I think since you are limited on putting time into exercising, you really need to watch what you eat. Try to put a concerted effort in controlling your caloric intake and of course eat healthy by cutting out all the unnecessary junk. An extensive stretching routine and a quick 1 mile jog around the neighborhood won't take too much time and will have you feeling great before work. You don't have room for two dumbbells? With or without dumbbell you can do a lot of exercises. One legged squats and lunges are two of my favorite exercises that I do at home along with pushups and pullups.

i'm on week 3 of p90x (tough, but damn it works!), and i have a 6 month old. i do p90x after we put the baby down.. 8:15-8:30p. i'm not sure that fits your schedule, but it does mine.

I am thinking about buying some under armor and a ski mask and try and bite the bullet to run in zero degree weather.

I dont now if I should try the P90x after we put here down because I dont know if that will wake her up or not, that and I am usually in bed around 9 after we put her down. I might give that a shot also, because I know the P90x really works and if I mix it in with running could show some nice results... I just hope it wont wake the baby lol.

I think Crossfit is an amazing workout program. You can go to an affiliate gym or follow the workouts at home. They are intense and typically short workouts. plus it will develop your core muscles for golf like nothing else.

Apart from that, I would recommend buying a rower. I use the Concept 2 rower and before i did use it I never thought rowing would be such a complete body workout. My view has since changed. 20 minutes on that at a good pace will burn calories and fatigue muscles.

Ditto on Crossfit. You would be amazed how much of a good workout you can get in ten to fifteen minutes.

"I am thinking about buying some under armor and a ski mask and try and bite the bullet to run in zero degree weather"

I've been racing triathlons for 22 years. I do a run block of training as soon as the weather turns cold enough that I can't cycle outside. If you run outside in the cold be sure you wear just enough clothing that you are slightly cold when you first start running. About 1/2 mile into the run you'll be warm enough. if you are warm when you start, about 1/2 mile in you'll be sweating and that will freeze your buns off. You don't want to sweat in the cold weather, its makes you colder!!

2 miles is plenty to accomplish what you want. ANY 20-30 minute run is great....no matter what speed you run. I run 3.1 miles on short days and 5 miles on long days.....I race sprint/olympic triathlons.

How about using your lunch hour if you have access to a gym or locker room at your office or nearby? Pack a lunch and eat at the desk when you return. You feel better physically and mentally and you can save a lot of dollars and worthless calories by not eating out!
