Not hitting my irons as good as i used to

I hit my driver and 3 hybrid just fine. I have i 15's and used to love them, i just cant hit them good anymore, and im hitting them solid. When you drive 235-245 and you hit your 5 iron only 170 and your 6 iron the same distance and you cant consistantly hit it the same every time kinda ticks you off.... any suggestions?

I think golfers worry too much about how far they "should" be hitting their irons.  I have no problem pulling out a 7 iron from 145-150.  Sure, if I want to I can hit it 165...but 145 right where I'm aiming 95% of the time is better than 165 with questionable accuracy....I've simply learned to work more on my short game more to battle the situations where I end up 180-190 yards from the green off the tee.....

That sounded like me before I started working on my swing. I used to carry my driver to 270, then carry an 8-iron to 180.

I wasn't maintaining lag through impact so I wasn't compressing the ball as much as I could have. Without seeing your swing, that would be my first guess.

What do you mean by lag

If this is the case, you probably aren't hitting the ball 'solid.'  The i15 is a great set of irons, poke around the instruction forum and see what you can learn.

If I was hitting my driver to ~ 240 a 170 yard 5-iron would be about a club short. Don't be afraid to through the ball and the turf with those things.

I hit my driver 260-270 and only hit my 5i about 170-175. I wouldn't worry much about it.. I agree with the previous poster.. you really need to look at your swing on camera.

Note to davidson11:

Why don't you put a "What's In The Bag" in your sig line, or your lists. That way we can tell what club mix you have, maybe give better advice.

First of all, I'm not sure that your 5i is that out of yardstick compared to your Driver. And, how far do you want to hit your 5i?

From what you wrote, I'm not sure what the problem is ... "I just can't hit them good anymore, and im hitting them solid" is a bit confusing. Then you say you can't "consistently hit it the same." If you've had a distance fall-off since last season, or if impact point is walking up and down the face from shot to shot, maybe a quick lesson could help you out.
