I've not really had a chance to practice my Pelz wedge play over the winter. I've written about it many times before: here and here ).

Today, it was rather windy, so I spent my time hitting balls to the temp green (and flag) in front of my club's 18th green. I hit shots with my three wedges from all over the place - 20 yards out to 100 yards.

Except for a few skanky shots where I got distracted, I was incredibly impressed with my wedge play. I used to be spotty with my short game in the summer, but I instantly began hitting shots within "blanket" distance - three to four balls that, from 100 yards, could be covered with a blanket.

I remain incredibly impressed with this method of wedge play.

I dont know the "Pelz method",but i presume mediaguru is refering to positions on the clockface in reference to swing-length,to control different distances short game wise ....... ?

I dont know the "Pelz method",but i presume mediaguru is refering to positions on the clockface in reference to swing-length,to control different distances short game wise ....... ?

I know. I just didn't understand why he bothered to post it without explanation. Meaning... I know what the clock times are... so what does listing them - without any text agreeing, disagreeing, or furthering the point - mean?

I guess he was having a "tight schedule" day !

The clockface golf concept is nothing new - is this the main basis of Pelz's theory for shortgame distance control ?
