It's always asked, but the answer may have changed recently, too: which tour is deeper - the European Tour or the PGA Tour?

I'd say the PGA Tour, but not by much. I think it would be obvious that the European Tour would be stronger if the Europeans stuck to the European Tour but alas the money is in the USA. I'd say the vast majority of Euro players probably have a more rounded game due to the completely different conditions they usually play each week and the different types of courses they play.

Well ...... I think it to be a close call, but at the Euopean Tour the season is limited for about april to october and after this period most European Tour players will play in the Asian Tour, which means they get to play under many different circumstances and climates, which makes the European maybe a bit deeper. Besides that there might be a larger group of players that can win tournaments ....... and it is less divided among a few top players.

I think the PGA Tour has more depth - but I think the European Tour has more strength at the top.

But what is really exciting, for me, is the youngsters coming through - McIlroy almost seems like a veteran, now! Manassero is really exciting and there are kids coming through the EGU programme who look very interesting indeed. From the SW, Chris Wood came through and now there's a lad called Ben Stow just outside the Walker Cup squad. Who knows who the French are hiding, and what the Spaniards are going to whip out from under their capes?

A debate that will always be played out. PGA tour probably deeper, but currently Euro Tour is stronger. This will change no doubt again and again. Always good to talk about it though.
