-5 through 14 to pull to -8 and only 3 shots off the lead. That kid's got some game! I've been a fan of his since he qualified for the US Open at Winged Foot and said he spent his entire first day just walking around in awe of the place. Good for him!

Will be exciting tomorrow, Tadd burned the edge on the last several holes, hitting it close with good birdie looks, this is a PLAYER, crushed it 324 on #16, hit a 3W 282 on #18 . . . this guy is really good, he has a chance to win especially if the wind brings the leaders back to the pack. He is the leader in the clubhouse right now. Very refreshing to see, it would be fun to be in his shoes right now, he's going to go low on Sunday, look out!

Great timing and great thread!

The kid is awesome for many aspects! He finally makes us forget all the crap

coming from the Michelle Wie's team (and I am a MW fan!)

On last night interview, Tadd was so humble and bare to the earth on his comments ("I might not win this tournament, but I am going to try my best!")

Well, looking at his today's score.... he is really trying his best and I would really like to see a new "Cinderella" story!

Go Tadd!

Wonder what it was like for Michelle to realize she wasn't even the best teenager in the tournament?

The way he closed out Friday's round to make the cut was probably the most exciting golf I have seen in a while, and I really pulled for the kid today. But to be honest, I did get a bit sick and tired of the way The Golf Channel was overdoing it.

So great job Tadd, can't wait to see you out there again and 'boo' to The Golf Channel for giving us too much of a good thing.

Never can get enough of a feel good story so I think the golf channel did a great job.
Maybe tadd can give corey Pavin some tips to hit the ball farther. At 5'1" he was killing the ball.

Who do you think will get the sponsors exemption next year at the Sony Open, Michelle or Tadd? Or perhaps there is more than one exemption?

It seems obvious that Tadd WILL be getting an exemption to play there next year and it wouldn't be surprising if he shows up at another tournament some time soon through an exemption, I bet the offers are coming in from tournament directors, it would really bump the gate and is good for golf.

That kid can really play, reminds me a bit of Trevino, short and stocky, he's for real, has the whole package, length is no problem for him. Hope he qualifies for the US OPEN this year, but there will be no sectional qualifier from Hawaii this year . . . so it will be tougher for him.

First I like tadd, secound we have to give credit to his caddie for telling him where to hit and how to putt the greens and back to tadd for just trusting the caddie and letting it rip.

It's his home course, no? If so, he'd know where to hit it...

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I was glad to see a teenager from Hawaii finally make the cut.

I kind of agree with cmark - when they started talking about how he was born premature and has been fighting for life ever since - come on. That stuff just gets a little out of hand. I like a good story just as much as the next guy, but when they start talking about how so and so was mauled by a baby kitten and then got his lunch money stolen by a girl and then to top it all off, on the anniversary of the mauling he got rear-ended driving his new Mercedes down to the homeless shelter- I guess I am just old and bitter from too many years in the Army but please!

I did like his attitude though. I will definately be watching if he gets into some future events.
I wonder if he can garner any other sponsor's exemptions...

Yeah he's the total man!

I agree with Cmark and JrBech, the announcers say the stupidest crap to fill space. It's the same in the NFL. No one cares what so-and-so's favorite color is (which I heard during the Masters)! Just give up some love for Tadd, and wreck-a-nize he's a great upcoming talent.

Yeah, the announcers due tend to ramble a bit. Was it just me or did Faldo come across as a total spaz a couple of times with his rambling?

I am a fan. This kid has perfect enthusiasm and a great appreciation for where he is. Most kids and young adults take for granted the life they are dealt (michelle for instance), Tadd is inspiring. No negativety what so ever and a joy to watch.

Great golfer but not the greatest behind the microphone. Don't know if you've ever heard Peter Allis? He was the best UK commentator by far.

Tadd seems like a normal, modest kid too. How refreshing; Most of these golf/tennis brats have been turned in to "space cadets" by their ambitious parents by the time they've reached 16. Time will tell if he can crack it consistently.

Felt sorry for poor old Charlie Howell. If he ever gets on a winning streak then he'll be one of the game's monsters I'm sure.
