I have recently (this past last 3 months) have changed to all exotics line clubs. Has anyone else found these clubs so incredibly better than the Big Guys club offerings? I can not wait till this spring and summer to really tune in these new gems in my bag. I know this might sound like shameless advertising for Tour Edge but these clubs truly out perform anything I have had in the bag and accounts for just about every major brand in the business. Just curious what other golfers have found.

I have never hit their clubs... Most of the places I use don't carry them.  But I have heard good things about them.  One of the knocks is the price tag and lack of brand marketing.  I mean unless you're a real golf enthusiast - and seek them out... I don't think you're going to even know about them.

Yes they do make some good stuff.  The most well known product in the Exotics line, is their fairway woods.  Titanium cupped faces, tungsten on the sole, hot stuff.  Tour Edge is shipping me an Exotics XCG5 and I'll be doing a review.

If you don't like it... I'll give it a try.

There's always Roger Dunn, right?

I recently bought a used Tour Edge Exotics XCG 15˚ 3 wood with a pro force v2 stiff shaft in it from Roger Dunn for $40*.  That club is an absolute monster.  I hit my driver carry plus roll in the 270-300 range.  Off the tee I hit the XCG in the 260-280 range.  Just ridiculous.  Easy 20 yards further than other 3 woods I've had.  I had a shot to a green maybe 20 yards uphill of me off a crappy side hill lie in the rough up to a par 5 last weekend.  Shouldn't have hit the 3 wood (at all!) but it's still new (to me) and I wanted to hit it.  Hit a little worm burner pull that still got pin high from 240!  I can't recommend their fairway woods enough.

* Side story.  I was hitting a bunch of used 3 woods and really liked this club and thought it was marked $50.  Brought it to the counter and it turned out the sticker was $150 but the 1 was mostly rubbed off.  You can buy XCG3s for $70 on ebay, which I showed the guy but he wouldn't budge more than $10.  I didn't buy, came back a few days later to try some other clubs (had a gift card from Xmas), and apparently he'd talked to a more senior manager about it cause the same club was now marked down to $40!

About once a year, we get a thread on Tour Edge gear and the Exotics line. Here's a thread from 2010:

http://thesandtrap.com/t/33595/tour-edge-golf-equipment

I played their lower-priced Bazooka Beta-Ti 3W and 5W from 2002 until 2008. Great clubs, but I quit using them when I switched from stiff back to regular shafts.

Focus, connect and follow through!

  • 1 year later...

I have been playing golf 47 yrs. Have not been able to find a 3 metal fairway I could not hit consistently since metal heads came out in 1991. I use to play to a 4 handicap and played small college golf. Xrail technology is amazing. Just purchased an xrail 3 fairway after I tried the 5 fairway. First 5 times I hit the 5 fairway I hit it solid. Now have 3, 5 and 7 fairways and the 4 and 5 hybrids. Tour Edge Exotics Xrails should be big sellers for Tour Edge. Also purchased CB4 used driver. 6 clubs I hit the longest distances in my bag are Tour Edge. Looking forward to my best year of ball striking. Low scoring is coming for many, Machine
