how do hybrids improve your game

At what distance do you hit the 4 and at what success? I added hybrids about 4 yrs ago and I typically use them to fill the gap between 160-190yards. I have a hybrid (22deg) that I can hit with good success to 190yrds and it is very forgiving. On most par 4's I find myself right at that mark and it allowed me to par or bogey several holes last season (i can live with a bogey).

There are some inexpesive option on the hybrid marked, buy and try, doesnt work resell.

BTW I used a par of taylor made rescue's and are trying Nickent ironwoods this season. But the 190yard club is a offbrand I bought for $35 on a whim and loved it since.

Well, you aren't really giving us a lot of information. How does the club you're considering replacing behave? How far do you hit it? How well do you hit it? How far do you hit the next-longer and next-shorter clubs in the bag? For example, if you hit your 4-iron, say, 190 yards, and your 5-iron 180, and a 3-hybrid 205, there may be no need for a 4-hybrid. On the other hand, if every time you need to hit a 4-iron, you take the club and think "oh, who am I kidding?" and tend to hit it poorly, a hybrid might be in order.

If you hit your 4-iron well, you may not want to switch.  The thing with hybrids is that they are more forgiving and make it easier to get the ball up in the air than an iron does.

My advice would be to try one out at your local golf shop and see if you like them.

Depends on how well you hit your 4 iron. If it's a problem, hybrid is a great option. Are you looking at options because the 4 iron isn't working out?

Generally speaking, hybrids are easier to hit and give me approx 10 more yards per club...FYI: for this reason I play a hybrid iron set -hybrids for 3 through 7 and love them!

Cant imagine ever going back to traditional irons. My traditional irons are purely scoring clubs-8,9,PW, SW.

      I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.

      Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
