Going from high hdcp irons to low hdcp irons

As of right now i am about an 8-10 handicap. Ive had Mizuno mx 100 irons for the last 2 years, which are game improving irons that are meant for the mid to high handicapper.

Am i losing anything by playing these irons as opposed to irons for more of a low handicapper?

If you are happy with your game, and you can do all the shots you want then there is nothing wrong with the irons. If you feel like you have hit a wall and want a little more out of irons, then maybe look at new irons. I dont think you are "losing" anything with MX 100. If you do decide to get new irons, dont expect your hcp to just go down.

I don't really think so.

 913 D2 8.5* with V2 66g stiff shaft

 910F 14.25 with Diamana stiff shaft

I would tend to agree, generally with a set of irons that are more geared toward a lower handicap you have the ability to work a ball, left and right, high and low.  The more game improvement irons tend to try and help you hit the ball straight and high.  So if you are happy with your game and feel like you continue to improve, probably no reason to change irons.

I wouldn't worry about it.  Like everyone said, if you are doing what you want with what you got, keep it. I went from slingshots to my Mizuno MP32s quite a few years ago and didn't really notice any change in handicap because of them.  I just didn't like the looks of the GI irons.  They didn't fit my eye.

      I agree with @pganapathy about removing some clubs. I would recommend removing the 2, 3, 4 and 5 irons for now. Play with Driver 3W 5W 3H 5H 6 iron 7 iron 8 iron 9 iron PW ( you don’t have listed) 52 56 Putter Th 60 wedge can be difficult for new players, but you could keep that If your 3H is adjustable, increased the loft to be more like a 4H. Play with these on course and see if you can get a feel of the actual yardages for each club and especially the gaps between them. It may take 10 or more rounds. A par 3 course is helpful for determining the gaps in the irons and some woods too. A device like a Shot Scope H4 can really help give you your actual yardage on course.

      Day 12: Same as last couple days, but focus was on recentering aspect of flow. When I recenter earlier I make decent contact most swings but if I recenter late or not at all it’s a roll of the dice.
