im an idiot and i left my wedge on the golf course today. :( it was a cleveland 588 60* wedge. i don't feel ill right now because i bought it a year ago on ebay for like 35-40 bucks. i still feel so stupid for leaving it. i called the proshop and they said no one turned anything in which doesn't suprise me one bit.

so now i need advice on what to get to replace it. my current wedge situation is pitching wedge 47* and gap wedge 52*. before i lost my 60*, i wanted to get a 56*. now my predicament is whether to go ahead and get a 56* along with a replacement 60* or to find a middle road and get a 58*? i loved using my 60* for those close flop shots but it did get me in trouble sometimes. im thinking with a 58*, i could still hit that flop shot and also use it as a sand wedge for bunker shots and what not? im a poor college stupid so i can't really go and buy a new titleist spin milled vokey so i will probably be scouring ebay for some used clevelands? my 52* is a cleveland cg10 that i got for around 40-45 on ebay. ive always heard cleveland made good wedges so ive stuck to them.

basically i need suggestions as to whether i should go the 52, 56, 60 route or 52, 58. it would boil down to spending more on a nicer 58* or getting decent 56 and 60.

since you were already thinking about it, i say go ahead and get the 56 and 60. You can probably find the same wedge on ebay for about the same price.

If you haven't maxed out the quota in your bag, I'd suggest you get the 56 and 60.

The reason is sometimes you might need a shot with less roll on the green. But frankly it all depends on how you play though. Do you prefer shots that go higher and less roll or low with roll? Besides, IMHO, you need distance accuracy in short games. It's a lot easier to change clubs than change your swing to reach the same distance. In addition, it's just that you have more options with 2 clubs and you know what? People love options.

I wouldn't give up on the wedge you lost just yet. Judging by the time of your post it seems you lost the club yesterday. Sometimes clubs aren't turned in right away. Actually, a lot of times they aren't. Perhaps someone found it and put it in their bag and forgot about it. Maybe the pro shop was closed when they finished or they were just lazy and will turn it in later. Maybe someone did find it but the person you talked to wasn't aware of it. I'd call back in another day or two. If not, yeah, you can get 588's or Vokey's on ebay for a pretty reasonable price. Also, if you have the extra space, I agree with the others and I'd get a 56 first then a 60.

I left a beat up, old rusty, Wilson Harmonized Sand wedge on the course a while ago and it never showed up. That wedge goes for $20 NEW, I'm not sure why people would try to take something like that. I did end up waiting a while to see if it turned up though, so maybe you'll be more lucky. I just ended up buying a new wedge. I like it a lot better than the old hand-me-down :)

Don't call the pro shop - actually go down there and check the lost and found piles. One time I called in looking for my sand wedge, which I think I'd left on the 17th, and they said they hadn't seen it - sure enough when I get there and look around, I find it.

If you still can't find it, well, it's really your preference as to what wedge you want. My 60 degree is real money around the greens for pitching it close. I even tried making a flop shot from a downhill lie by pointing away from the hole - the best I've done to date is a ball that went straight up and down (Look up on Youtube "Mickelson backflip"). But in all seriousness, I need something that gets the ball up and lands softly because my ball trajectory is very low. Even a flop shot doesn't sit 9 out of 10 times.

lamebums is right; you've got nothing to lose and, potentially, a lot to gain by looking yourself.
