So, as you can see from my profile, I was a somewhat active member of this forum in late 2008 and early 2009. At that time I was finishing up college at James Madison university and only had 9 credits (3 classes) my last semester. Needless to say I had a lot of time to pursue golf. It also helped that the local course at the time offered a $250 semester pass for students! I took a few lessons and would play 2-3 times a week. I was making progress and was on my way to breaking 100 in a round, but failed due to an on course injury - I had a 47 on the front nine, but on the 12th hole I hit a ball off the hosel and it somehow tore up the ring a pinky finger on my left hand...I finished the round with a 6-7 finger grip and shot a 104.
Shortly after that incident I graduated and got a full time job and just didnt have the time (or $) to dedicate to golf. I am able to play with a buddy about 4 times a year, but my swing keeps getting worse. I have decided that I need to focus a little more time and efforts onto my swing if I want to enjoy my quarterly golf outings...and if I do maybe I will want to get out there more. I have been reacclimating myself to the swing and watching a lot of Shawn Clement's youtube stuff. I am a big fan of his teaching methods as I feel like I can swing a little more naturally using his guidelines. I took it out to the range and was instantly striking the ball better with my 6 iron, but the 4 still gave me fits. Gotta keep practicing.
Anyways, just wanted to reintroduce myself! I am currently living in Maryland and working in D.C.
