Naples Fl course recommendations

Hi all,

I'll be traveling to Naples next week to visit the in laws. My father in law, who lives there 6 months a year, is a golfer and we plan on playing 2 or 3 rounds. He has a few in mind but I'd like to come armed with some recommendations. I see the golf in Naples is quite pricey so I'd like to keep rounds below $100 bucks. We might splurge and play one round over a hundred bucks (if the course is worth it) but we would really like to keep it cheaper.

So I ask you,

1. What courses would you recommend below $100?

2. If you you have played one of the more expensive courses, which course would you recommend above $100?

Thanks all!

Not sure on exact pricing for this time of year (it's high season) but here are a few I'd recommend:

Old Corkscrew (in Estero): Jack Nicklaus design.  This will most likely be above the $100 rate but it's a "do not miss".  Probably the toughest course I've ever played, but it is beautiful.  My favorite public course down there.

Tiburon: Two courses; Gold (that's the course where they play the Shark Shootout) and Black.  Played them both and Black is by far the toughest.  Sounds strange since the pro's play the Gold but trust me.

Raptor Bay: another nice course up by Bonita Springs.  Not a real difficult course but it's very nice and I've seen an amazing amount of wildlife there, from bobcats to black panthers.

Heritage Bay: probably the closest to the under $100; three different 9's and you can't go wrong with any of them.

Another on the cheap side is Stoneybrook.  I've only played it once but I do kind of remember it being under $100 and a pretty nice course.

Like I said, the problem is timing.  Golf down there is outrageous this time of year; I was just there over the holidays and it goes up even more from Jan-March or so. Spent a lot of time in the Naples area (it's our home away from home) so if you haven't been and need some more info on stuff to do/see/places to eat let me know.  Have fun.

I'm headed to Marco Island the last week of April.   If  you don't mind, I'd love recommendations for anything around that area, restaurants, golf, activities, etc.

I've only played one course down by Marco: Hammock Bay. Nice course but I honestly don't know if its private or not. I bout a Players Pass one year when I spent 6 weeks in Naples and it was in there; some private courses were included for the time period I was there.

As for dining/activities you have to go to the Snook Inn. Good food, live music and great place to eat on the water with great views.

That's about all I have for Marco. Never stayed there (we visit Naples/Bonita Springs) but we usually go to Marco and spend half a day or so. Beautiful place for sure.
