The xFIXx is in!

Wait, a under $20 ball that actually spins without much effort, and remains pretty straight off the tee?

Yep, the Bridgestone xFIXx became my new lover on the course today. I dunno what it does, but it's a damn good ball.

I was playing an e6 along side it to compare... the e6 rolled over the greens, while the xFIXx stuck. Heck, it even putted better.

Maybe it's self-fulfilling prophecy, as I was excited to try this ball as soon as I got it.

Never thought I'd be saying I hit a Bridgestone now!

Not a popular ball based on the fact I've never found one. It was one of the balls tested in the golf mags last year and it got suprisingly high reviews. They did robot testing and had a range of players try it out in a blind test. I've never tried it but according to the results it's a sleeper for sure. The better players in the sample pretty much said exactly the same thing you did.

Funny you mention that - I just found a pair in the woods yesterday, and they weren't mine (I used the 1-sleeve but these were 3's). I do generally agree that it's not a popular ball though.

But this ball just seems to fit my game to a T. I'm still a pretty short hitter, so I do like to aim for the front of the green and get some roll on my approach shots. But with past balls I've tried - e6, PD Long, Hex Warbird - they unquivocally roll off the green, even if i hit the front as intended.

But the xFIXx gives me that carefully calculated extra roll I'm looking for. As the box says, it's for "recreational players looking for good all around performance."

Sounds about right to me.
