Shaft flex question

My swing is kind of "unique". I have a short backswing (slight wrist cock) that is just beyond level. I start downward slowly and (when swinging right) really get it going at impact and through the ball. I start out at about 95 mph swingspeed and get it up to 105 after a couple holes. The shaft flex has to work in a short arc and is different then a full swing. It's allowed me to make almost perfect face contact and have swung this way (usually with good success) for 20 of my 40 years golfing. The shaft has to flex and come back quickly though.

If I had a full swing I'd probably be using borderline reg/stiff flex shafts but I have a strong feeling the shaft is still "bent" when coming through since my bad shot is a slice. I know I'm releasing okay since the YS-6+ stiff is working much better then the VS Proto stiff. I sliced that all too frequently.

Would it make sense to try a X flex at my swingspeed? (Something that might "recover" faster). Would I lose all kinds of distance? On the launch monitor they said with my swing I had to use stiff flex and they seem to be right since it fixed a ballooning problem.

What shaft or flex would you shaft experts recommend? I don't have $400 for a Creation or I'd have one on order. I was thinking a Graf Bimatrix but don't know if those are junk or break frequently.

Let me know your thoughts. If the majority suggest trying an X flex I might pick up a cheapy on Global Golf to see what happens. thanks.

Instead of trying a shaft with a different flex, try a shaft with a lower torque rating. This should keep the head a little more square for you and eliminate the weak shot right. A shaft with a lower torque rating may feel a little like a board to you, so you may have to play around with different shafts until you get the right combination of feel and stability through impact.
