Hey guys. I have just started up golf after not playing since I was a teenager. I'm 27 now. I'm pretty bad and shoot mid 110's. I was wondering if anyone is from the area? Maybe some ideas on what courses are nice and reasonable price? I have played King Valley and Iron Masters thus far. Hope to make some friends. Bryce

Thanks man. Perhaps I can make a few friends here and get better as well :)
Welcome Bryce.  I believe there are a handful of golfers here from the PA-OH area.
• 1 year later...

Gretings, I'm also new to golf & am having a blast learning the fundamentals. I took a few lessons at South Hills in Hanover PA & I've been playing @ Little Creek i n Spring Grove PA the past few weeks. The front 9 @ Little creek a re all par 3 holes which are great for beginners tweaking their short game plus you can't beat their prices.

Stay under par my friends.

Good to have more Pa guys around here.....around what parts you from? Richard Lee... Your right around the corner from me... I live in Hanover right off Grandview... South hills is 3miles from my driveway.... Also have you played Hickory Heights in your backyard over in Spring Grove? Real nice course and is beginner friendly too....

Nice ! I drive by Hickory Heights every day on my commute to York & definitely want to check it out.

They're working on improving Little Creek next week. Looking forward to seeing what they do.

Have a great week

Good deal Richard! I'm from Hanover too. Not sure you've ever heard of Flatbush in Littlestown but you should check it out. Also quail valley off rte 97. Love their greens

    • I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.
    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
    • Oh yea, now I remember reading about you on TMZ!
