I have been tinkering around with golf for a few years. My current set of clubs consists of some craigslist deals and some hand-me-downs. I have never had a formal fitting. I have had a handful of lessons over the years, but I plan on taking golf much more seriously this year. Part of that change in approach includes investing in consistent lessons (and not just buying a groupon here or there). I have enrolled in a 3-day golf school through a pretty reputable institution here in Charlotte. I have the funds to purchase new clubs. Should I go and get fit now and buy my clubs BEFORE the lesson. Or should I wait until I have completed my golf school and purchase clubs AFTER? Any and all suggestions or insight is appreciated. Thanks gang!

I would take the lessons first to see if you can take any wobbles out of your swing.

Before you start the three-day school, contact the instructors and tell them you want help in finding some replacement clubs. They should be happy to help you out.

Let us know how the school and your fitting adventure goes.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I think the lessons first is proper route (although I did it opposite many years ago). Besides ensuring proper grip, stance, posture, etc, etc from the teachings your instructors/school may have discounts with club manufacturer(s) and/or can assist in you choosing a fitting that truly yields clubs fit to your abilities. Good luck.
