All things bicycle here.

This guy installed a Loud Bicycle. It's basically a car horn on a bike. Folks, don't be surprised if you hear a car horn and a bike is behind you. He also vlogged his ride via his helmet cam. LOOK AT ALL THOSE BICYCLISTS! You can hear him use the Loud Bicycle at around 05:54. I wondered if the drivers even noticed in time.

Just redid my grip tape.  White.  What WAS I thinking?!  :~(

Looks fine to me! You could just redo it, it's just tape?

Testing out a new mount, going slow because afraid camera might drop. Really need to replace the brake pads. And buy a proper helmet cam. Also recently switched from SPDs to Look pedals, still getting used to clipping on and off.

Don't get me wrong, it looks GREAT, but it's gonna get real dirty in a hurry! ;-)

Note for your new pedals, do NOT unclip right, and lean left.... :-D

I've always used black too.  Just wanted a change.  It looks great, but...

I've ridden the West Side Greenway not a few times. It is usually tourists during work hours. That section between Pier 40 and the TriBeCa bridge around BMCC and Stuyvesant is going to feel as residential as a neighborhood in a humongous metropolis can be. There are tennis courts, playgrounds, water views. It is the last place you'd expect some depraved subhuman to ram you from the back. F** you extremists, I will not even rethink, not one iota,  using the greenway. You don't win. I will go on doing whatever the hell I want. Hope the NYPD doesn't go overboard with barriers to protect it. I wonder what they'll do with the bike/utility lane in Central Park. Prospect Park will be car free next year.

So what does it say?

If a thousand enemies are intent on my demise
With you as my friend, fear won't arise.
I'm alive with the hope of union with thee
Every moment I fear death, otherwise.
Breath by breath, your scented breeze I must inhale
Moment by moment, from sorrows exhale my cries.
Only dreaming of you, go to sleep my two eyes
Patiently longing for thee, my heart to itself lies.
Don't pull away your rein when you cut me with your sword
My head is my shield, while my hand your saddle-strap ties.
Where can we see your face just as you are, true and pure?
Each based on his own grasp can realize.
Indigent Hafiz is the apple of people's eyes
At your door, prostrated, your vision espies.

Debating whether to meet up with group going out early to ride the NYC Marathon route, cold and rainy supposedly on Sunday, but carless route all clear to ride is pretty tempting and 26.2 miles on a bike is nothing. Will probably make a spot decision, hopefully it's not wet. Can't wake up late or will be stopped by 5-0, so an early day. Would be really cool to ride the QBB without the 5 Bore Tour crowdedness.

Yeah, those weirdo cyclists.

Quote

“Our data confirm that the vast majority of cyclist injuries can be avoided simply by driving an automobile instead of biking around like some weirdo,”

“Regular people drive cars because it’s the normal and not the abnormal thing to do. If every cyclist purchased and operated a car like you’re supposed to as an adult, bike fatalities would drop an estimated 40 percent within six months alone.” Gafferty went on to say that people who biked for exercise should consider driving to a gym and using a stationary bike facing a wall of televisions like everyone else.

Gotta love The Onion!

If every car owner (except me, of course) traded in their cars for bikes, auto deaths would decrease by 100%.
