Looking Up

Well, I did 9 holes this week wearing the ankle brace and I hit some really nice shots and I could still walk after the round.  Once I stopped thinking about the ankle and just did the swing it was fine.  Score was not low but was not over the top either.  I am not certain but I may have been swinging a little easier because of the brace and was making very good contact. Distances were just fine, maybe even a little longer than last year but 9 holes is so few it is hard to draw many conclusions.

Going forward I may try to walk a round in the braces and see how that goes.

I think these braces just saved my golf season.  It will be interesting to see how I do on 18 holes on Sat & Sun this weekend in Ohio

Was the ankle thing like weights that you strap around your ankle? If that is the case, that is interesting. I have been practicing and practice, I just like to practice. I was taught to take a score card new or old and hit a few balls with a sand wedge. Then pull out the driver and look at hole one and shape the shot. (When I Could do it) add the yardage up and hit and Iron the distance to the green. If I hit that distance place and x and after I was done with that I would go to the chipping and putting area drop the ball on the edge if my second shot on the range was off or short, if I hit the green on the range I would drop in the edge of the green and try to 1-2 putt. The next day would be wedges and sand trap practice. those were the days. I still practice but not that intense and dedicated. I have been through a lot since then and today I did not hit one ball out of 70 with a wedge or Iron. Fairway woods were hit or miss but the driver did good. Anything helps and it does not hurt to try. I am new to the site. working on getting my swing uploaded.

No, the ankle thing is a hard shell boot/brace due to a ruptured tendon.  It eliminates all movement left to right and almost all movement front to back.  Lucky for me it is on my back foot and does not appear to be hurting my swing.
