Stage 5-1 Time to move forward

Its been a while since I updated, so here goes.

First: Thanks to all that were at the TST Outing in OH this past week.  It was fun.

I had allowed myself to let my golf training & weight loss fall behind the last couple of months.  Simply got busy with other things and failed to make either a priority.  Weight-wise I've added @ 8 lbs but feel I should be able to get that off quickly once I get back on the treadmill (TONIGHT!) and cut back on the hot dogs, pizza and beer that I enjoy a lot during the summer.

As for golf, I do not have a good benchmark but suspect my lack of practice/training/drills has added several strokes to my score.  I shot an embarrassing score at Virtues last Sunday.  It is posted to GHIN and those in attendance know it but other than that I am not going to mention shooting a 112  (opps, just let it slip).  @bkuehn1952 felt I began to rush my putts once I knew I was having a bad score and I need to not let frustration get to me.  Still, it was more than putting that caused that score.

I did my arm drill for the first time in quite a while this week and will get a video on Evolver soon and will get re-committed to improving.

As for my foot recovery I am ecstatic.   I golfed 45 holes at Garland May 28 & 29 then 36 holes in Ohio June 1 & 2 and then 9 holes June 4th.  That is 90 holes in 8 days and no pain in the foot.  😊 That is a far cry from May 2023 at Little Mountain where I could barely finish 9 holes.

On another note, @Hardspoon and @saevel25 are going to coordinate a 2025 TST Outing.  I encourage all to attend that if they can as these outings are fantastic fun and a great way to meet other TST Members.

Glad to hear the foot pain was non-existent!

I am in the same boat, weight loss has not happened how I wanted. Stress from work, being worn down a bit. Going to get back on it.

My weight issue was a lack of prioritization.  Yes, I had a lot on my plate but I always feel I should make time for what is important and I just let it slip to the bottom of the priority list.  I began taking the easy way out by going to junk food instead of taking a little time for something more healthy and by not doing at least a little exercise each day...or at least ever other day.  Unfortunately when I am tired & hungry I can make the wrong decisions when it comes to food & exercise.

But now things should be slowing down and I am recommitting myself.  Tonight will be the first test.  I have an evening client appointment so I will be home late and those days are often the hardest to make the correct decisions.

Short update:

Yesterday I walked 9 holes for the first time in a very long time.  The foot started to ache on the 8th hole and did hurt after the round but overall it did well.

As for my golf game, I was hitting real well yesterday and had only 2 bad shots.  One was followed by a 3-Putt for double bogey but the other was a very lucky fluke.  I was @ 5 yards off the green green.  The green has a lot of slope and It is very hard to stop a ball on the green if you are on the side or back of the green.  I was on the side towards the front of the green.  I was planning to hit my lob wedge to the widest part of the green @ 10 feet above the pin so I could easily stay on the green.  Unfortunately I bladed the ball, it shot hard into the side hill of the green, popped up and landed softly 4 fee below the hole.  I could not have played it better if I tried.

I hope you posed after hitting the shot and then did a club twirl.

Sorry, but no.  Instead I was heard shouting an obscenity the instant I hit the ball.
