No, there's not. I'd get into the reasons why but the short answer is that we think that's unnecessary information.

How is knowing what club to hit unnecessary information? Seems pretty important to me.

Where can I find this manual you speak of?

Another question I have is does this program support 9 hole courses? It seems to count the back nine as all pars if I set the par and score to 0, there doesn't seem to be a way to disable the back 9.

Conditions change, a five iron today might be a 4 or 6 iron tommorow, plus if you thin it or chunk it a little and it hits the green is it useful info?? The range is for figuring that type of stuff out. I think they were going for the same type of stats the Tours find important and useful.

Currently Scorecard does not support nine hole rounds. Erik has stated(several times in this thread), that they plan on having a nine hole option available in version 2.0, and also stated they are looking at a Feb '09 release.

I have been using scorecard for 8 months or so and I find it very useful as to what I need to work on. I have a few 9 hole rounds that I couldn't enter but for the most part it is irrelevant to me because I mostly play 18 hole rounds. Just trying to answer these for you because I know Erik is hard at work on the course , so he may come in and better answer these for you.

Thanks for the info, you answered both my questions.

EDIT: Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but there seems to be a bug when printing scorecards, it doesn't show the "\ /" for fairways or the circles for U and S for "up and down" and "sand saves".

Thanks for the info, you answered both my questions.

A quick suggestion (I love the program, and am figuring out how to attach it to my signature

I think it would be very helpful to know the percentage of the time that I three putt from a given distance. I know (roughly) that when I three putt, it is from more than 20 feet, but these percentages would give me goals to work on. I guess this is the same thing as in the above quoted post, just wanted to chime in that I think this would be valuable info for us 3-putters.

Okay so it sounds great. I was just wondering how User Friendly the program is. I can build a computer no problem but learning new programs is difficult for me. (still learning GP). Also. When thinking of buying it I was wondering, If I put it on my computer now, what will I have to do to put it on my next computer when I go to school? How much memory does the program and aprox. how much does the stats take? Are all the individual stats in separate files or are each rounds and how much memory does it take? I was thinking if it isn't much I could get a USB key and keep it on there?

Is there a way to add the notes field to the to the scorecard columns?
When I click on "columns" I do not see the notes field as an option.

It's not an option because it's not the kind of column that will fit properly in the table we have.

Would it be hard to add a truncated length of the notes?

Reason I ask is once in a while I will add a note like "new irons added" or "started putting with x brand putter". Once you have 20 -30 rounds in it is time consuming to find the note, you have to open each round to find it. Maybe just a check box in the columns to indicate a note is associated with that round?

The info appears in the drawer (Mac OS X) version and in the "Show Round Info" window (Windows). Just open that and use the arrow keys to scroll through your rounds until you find the appropriate one.

No. A checkbox isn't the right control there anyway, and most people write notes on every round. In fact, we're adding the ability in the next version to add a note to every hole if the user wants.

Hey, that sounds cool... will those notes be attached to the round, or to the course? I think it would be cool to be able to put in notes about each hole on a course, and print it for reference (keep in mind that I play about 25 different courses on a regular basis, so I don't always remember how I played a particular hole last time).

Each round. And the notes will show up online, too. Things like "pin was in an impossible spot today!" could explain an unusual three-putt, or whatever.

If you want to keep general notes about a course, buy a little golf notebook.

Got it, that works fine. I had the scorecard to almost full screen and when the "Show Rounds Info" window was open it would hide behind the scorecard screen so I could not see it when scrolling.

I reduced the scorcarde screen so I could see both windows and I can scroll through now.
