Doesn't the Odyssey Black have a milled dot on the heel similar to Tigers Scotty?

No, that was his Scotty on TV yesterday.

The earlier picture is not Tiger's putter.

It is definitely a one off Scotty made specifically for Tiger. Very much like the Newport 2. I belive the symbol you think is an Odyssey symbol is actually the "Cyrcle T" logo. Hope this helps

I Googled my ass off this morning. I think I found some relevant stuff.

Some sites say he has been using the same putter since 1999. I think that means the same style. Then I found the Grouchy Golfer's blog. He's apparently a club aficionado. He says these are copies of Tiger's putter authenticated by Scotty Cameron. The article is dated 2005. Damn this getting old. I saw the putter on TV yesterday and I only remember the dot. The putter has the red dot in the heel and says "Titleist" on rear of the face.

Inserting the image links did not work.

OK, I'm trying this again. I Googled "Tiger Woods Red Circle Newport"

There are two commemoratives on eBay now (If you have an extra 2 grand). Both are 2002 - Masters and U.S. Open Since they are commemoratives, the are gold plated so don't go by the color. Putter picture Did we find the right one? Get your copy for only $1,950.00 (plus S&H;) at http://search.ebay.com/search/search...p=1%26fsoo%3D1 I'll be using one of the 15 putters laying around here instead.

Those sites that said Tiger used the same putter since 1999 are wrong. For a while he used a Scotty Cameron Terrilyum putter, which had a black finish and the insert was orange-ish. As you probably know, Tiger's current putter has a silver like color.

I've been watching Tiger for a long time and I don't ever recall seeing him using a Terrylium. Cite a source or something.

During matchplay yesterday, at one point he used a putter that was similar/if not the same as the one posted above...all i saw was Titleist clear as day on the backside of the face...made me think of this thread.

The following is from a Q&A; with Tiger Woods at a Nike media event in Los Angeles in Nov. 2006:

Q. You've been playing with a Scotty Cameron for ten years what seems to be the hesitancy to change? Is it because Nike cannot produce a putter that meets your needs, or are you just superstitious? TIGER WOODS: I've used this putter since the Byron Nelson of '99 when I first put it in, and I had grown up with an Answer Two , and that was my putter of choice, and I had Scotty do a one-off and he made this putter... The experts at The Cameron Collector will verify that Tiger has used the same putter since 1999.

this picture does look like he used a terrelium (spelling?) putter at one point (97 masters?)

I don't recognize the model but that putter is not the same one he uses now.

Anyone?

I also read an interview that said the reproductions of the current putter were made but felt diffferent to him and he could tell a difference. I also remember him saying something that he has used the exact putter from around 2000-2001. If in fact that is true, just think of the value of that putter, especially if he breaks the record. Holy sh%t

    • Day (2 May 24) - somehow I missed posting both Tues and Weds practice sessions - so the streak ends and a new one begins…. Focus today was on ball first contact using the Divot Board for reference.   Worked with 7i, 9i and GW hitting hard foam balls.  Started hap hazardly and then settled back into my pre-shot setup.  Much more consistent in the latter.
    • So, Newey is out at Red Bull. Where does he go in a year? Is Max still with RBR in 2026? Hmmmm.
    • August 2010 Woodfin Ridge 18th hole Playing in a large tournament with a slew of friends and the last day was two man best ball. The 18th, when it was bent grass, was very fast due to a steep slope on the right side. I had seen many people over the years putt off the green from above the hole. I hit a great drive and 3W to 30’ left of the hole. With everyone watching my partner hit it way too fast and never high enough and his ball rolled all the way to the bottom of the green.  I hit mine much higher and the ball came to rest about 20” above the hole. Then it slowly started trickling towards the hole for a walkoff eagle! Nobody said anything except my partner who was yelling pretty loudly. I looked at the crowd and told them it was okay to clap because it was a great putt, and they gave me a bunch of polite golf claps and brought me a beer!
    • Day 127: 5/2/24 Stack Full Speed spectrum training session 6/24. Training speed was 5 mph higher than previous high, as was e-speed. Still not as high as I have done in previous programs, but just 1 mph lower. Battling through a neck issue, and possible trigger fingers. Happy with results.
    • Day 49. Played 9 from tees a bit beyond my comfort zone and was humbled. Hit a couple good shots so will take that at least.
