Range Vs Course, Dialing Back for Contact

Then the question is, are you working on the right thing the right way.

Feel isn't real. I use to take the club way inside. For me, the feel of a more upright swing was like my arms/hands going straight up, and the club is pointing vertical. It wasn't close to that, but it is what I needed to feel for half a year.

You may need to get good instruction.

Yup.  My priority piece for a while a year or so ago made me feel like I was having my back swing like Jim Furyk.  In my head, that had to be what my back swing looked like.  I was following the feels I was given to work on and was hitting the ball well.  When I saw it on video, I was amazed at how smooth -- and how definitely not like Jim Furyk's back swing -- it looked.
