I'm a retired carpenter. I have mildly arthritic hands...they get sore, and swollen, at the drop of a hat. I use mid-sized grips on everything except my sand wedge and putter...which have jumbo grips on them. Standard grips feel thin to me and while I can play with them it isn't a pleasant experience.
As for swing speed: Back-weighting a club (ceteris paribus) will reduce, not increase, its swing weight.

Yes, they do. But in your previous post that I quoted, you seemed to imply that only riding cart revenue helped the course. All revenue helps the course. You said you didn't blame courses for banning pull or push carts. You did not specify if they were owned by the golfer or not. FWIW, if a course did that around here, and I owned my cart, I would no longer play there! So, how does my lack of revenue help that course?

Okay, here we go…
Work on your setup.
Then come back and work on doing all this stuff a bit softer. Your arms don't have to go as deep, you don't have to keep the face that shut that long, etc. Just let the club and hands go where they want, but make sure the left shoulder stays down and doesn't lift up toward to end of the backswing.
I would lay up given the scenario you laid out. I have the length currently to reach with no head wind, but into a severe headwind no chance so might as well take the bunkers out of play. Depending on how severe the headwind is might hit anything from a 3w to 5i to accomplish that.
