I was wondering how the stock taylormade reax shaft stands up to modern aftermarket shafts. I have it in my R7 425. It seems to be good-but how does it stand up to other shafts

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

I have the standard REAX in my R7 425 too - and i've just ordered the REAX Superfast for the Burner.

2 Pro's who coach me are both recommending the stock shaft for me. One of them could make some money out of recommending something else, or charge me for a fitting. I haven't tried anything else in the Burner but i've tried all the top brand shafts recently.

I didn't get custom fitted but I hit the club I ordered and the results were great. They're not for everyone - but they're right for me (and cheaper)

This is a very "player-specific" question. My suggestion would be to get on the launch monitor and see what your numbers are with the stock shaft. If the launch angle matches ball speed, spin rates, and the resulting shot goes where you'd like it to, I'd say your set.

All that being said, the Taylormade Non-TP REAX is does not have Fujikura's Rombax throughout the entire shaft, but a potion of the shaft does have that double woven strand technology. I had a REAX in my superquad before I swapped it for a VS Proto 70g. In my opinion it's a lesser shaft from a technology perspective, but if it matches your swing, who cares about technology?
