Hmm...$720 for a new set of irons. They look real to me, so I’d say it’s very likely that they aren’t fake.

WITB:
Woods: Cleveland Launcher (Driver, 17 degree, 22 degree)
Irons: Titleist T200 (4-PW)
Wedges: Callaway Jaws (50/54/60)
Putter: Odyssey White Hot

The seller is based in California and Ebay says free 30 day returns.   I'd message the guy and ask some serious questions before jumping the gun.  I'd still be leery.

I am always careful with new sellers/those with just a handful of reviews, but he is accepting free returns which is unusual if they are fake. Plus ebay will cover it if they are fake. Like others have mentioned, ask questions before you buy.

AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS. Disregard the paragraph below and read edit.

Looks more like stolen off a truck than fake to me, but it is completely possible that they are fake. With eBay and the seller's refund thing, I probably just go for it. Checking with Titleist might come back with a set of stolen or missing clubs if you run serial numbers. Let us know if you end up buying or find anything out about the clubs.

Edit*

A quick brush over the sellers profile shows their location as Morocco and membership to eBay staring in September '19. All of his ratings come from members in China that sell low-end knock-off electronics. I wouldn't touch that seller with a 39 1/2' pole.

  • iacas changed the title to Odds These Aren't Fakes?

Fakes are more common with top-of-the-line brands like Titleist, Ping, Callaway, etc. Since most club heads are made in China, it is easy for the factory to run a "fourth shift" for themselves. I would not be surprised if these irons did not have any serial numbers etched into the hosels at all. Very easy to add some Dynamic Gold shafts and grips to a set of counterfeit iron heads. Big price to pay for something playable, but "worthless" if you want to trade them in.

    • We do not buy extended warranties. We will use one of our credit cards for the purchase that extends the warranty "x 2". Our thoughts are: a. if the item is a lemon, it will likely break right away and we can attempt to apply the original warranty or credit card extension. b. over the long haul, we will probably save more money by not purchasing the extended warranty and fixing/junking broken items out of our own pocket. The important thing is to keep some records of purchases so one may make a claim under the manufacturer's warranty. I recently sent back some Footjoy shoes for leaking and Footjoy did a reat job of making the claim process work very well. I had the original receipt, warrant info and box. Easy peasy.

    • This is pretty much how I look at it.  I understand there are times when the piece of mind has value. I think over the long haul I'm money ahead by never buying the extended warrantee. Hell, What do I know? I went to Ch!cago PubIic SchooIs.
