Wedges: Ping Tour-w vs. Titleist Vokey

I have had 2 vokeys. 200 series, 60.06 (rusty one) and currently 54.14 and 58.08 in spin milled.

I am really fond of the look of the Tour-W's and they complement my irons (S-58's). I have realised the 54.14 Vokey has limited uses - just the bounce is too much. I'm getting a 54.10 Tour-W at the weekend.

Considering the Vokeys are less than a year old - they haven't held up well. The trade-in prices i've been quoted have been poor but i'll accept them either way.

They're not for everyone. But I like and prefer them to Vokeys.

Vokey not even close--the 200 series was the best ever made the new spin milled are cheaply made. I am mad at titleist. They're clubs are going downhill as theyve outsourced to china. Theyre also losing business to upcoming brands like Adams and Nickent.

I can't speak for Vokeys but I have a Tour-W 56/10 that I love (probably my favorite club to hit). I'll be picking up a 60 degree Tour-W this weekend.

Two different publications I read REALLY loved the Titleist wedges and I would like to add a really good high-lofted wedge to my bag. I've played Ping for years and the LW in my bag is a 57 but it's almost 14 years old. I would like to add a 60 so I could hit a big lob to tight pins. I'm not one to buy a whole lot of new equipment (as you can see by the irons in my bag) and would like to buy wisely. I really like the looks of the Tour-w in Nickel.

but i love my vokeys
sometimes ball stops too quickly unexpectedly

vokey no contest.

the spin milled wedges spin way too much for me, and they dont have a gap wedge which is my favorite club in the bag. so i stick with the 200 series oil can. i strip them of the finish and make them raw, so so soft.

those two brand will never ever be preferred over titleist.

This is actually a good thread for me. I'm looking right now at picking up a Vokey, but as a beginner need something that is forgiving. Would a Vokey 56.10 SW be a forgiving club?

the ping wedges give u a much better fell than the vokeys and they launch it very high so you can stick greens

i wouldn't say they are forgiving.

try cleveland cg14 or adams tom watson wedges

i have found the bounce on the vokeys too much from PW to LW

so thats why i grind mine down to 5-6 degrees in the SW. It allows me more flexibility too. Especially off the hard fairways i play on sometimes here. I hate bounce.
