Past weekend I had a training session in GC Quad simulator at my local golf store. Took some photos of my club data. Only thing that I think stands out is the toe down with 6-10 deg at impact.
First thought is that my golf shoes (Adidas Tour 360 XT with spikes) makes me stand taller over the ball compared to other golf shose I have owned. But it can't be that simple answer.
Second thing is my hands are higher at impact than at adress. I don't have much of a dispersion problems. My Accuracy is fine most of the time.

What can be the cause of that tow down at impact?

I have attached the photos of my 7, 8, 9 and pw.

Carry distance with each club for the session.
i7 = 150 meter (164 yds).
i8 = 139 meter (152 yds).
i9 = 132 meter (144 yds).
Pw = 122 meter (133 yds).

Hard to say with out seeing your swing, but a few thoughts came to mind.

1. Your clubs are not fitted well for you.
2. The handle of the club is way to high at impact. Take your grip at address, then raise the handle up, but keep the clubhead in contact with the ground. You will see the toe start to tip down.

They are fitted well for me. I didn't have this prob,em at the fitting. But then I didn't carry the ball 164 yds as I do now.
My ball flight is good and the aim is nothing wrong with. I thinking it's a swing technique thing. I do have higher hands at impact.
When I adress the club behind the ball its sits perfect on the ground. More middle of sole than toe or heel.

OK, this pretty much HAS to be true.  If the club soles correctly at address, and the hands move higher, the toe HAS to tip down.  But you say your distance is OK, your dispersion is good, so is this really a problem?  I can understand your concern if you're mis-hitting shots, but if I could have consistently good contact, reasonable distance, and good lateral dispersion, I'd be pretty pleased.  Sometimes the result of the swing is more important than the numbers.

Other possibilities:

  • The machine isn't reading the thing properly.
  • Your shaft is too light and the club is toe drooping quite a bit.

Uhm… like others said, your hands are higher at impact than they should be?

Video would be helpful here.

The contact is awfully low on the face, too. I wouldn't rule out that the machine isn't working 100% correctly.

Thanks for all the answers. I has booked another practice session this saturday. I will try to make a video with my swing and post it here.

    • No rain while I was out (9am to 11:30am). Fairly pleasant for a late November day in the Mitten.
    • Day 56 - 2024-11-25 Did the BAD Challenge and hit a bunch more other little shots. This was one of the closer shots.
    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲
