Obviously if you have one of those super long flagsticks, bit of a bind. I had a much smaller version of this thing at one time or another, probably tossed it out or in some unopened, forgotten storage box.

I actually have a sextant. I should bring that to the course. And my book of tables. I could get a read on distance in about 15 minutes or so.

The one above is not very accurate.
