Caddie Looking in Bag for Club Selection

I was watching early coverage of the 3rd round at WGC in Mexico.  I believe it was the 3rd hole.  Tommy Fleetwood and his caddie  were discussing his shot.  Tommy's bag was off to  the side, when one of the other caddies walked over and looked (no touching) at his clubs.  My guess would be to see what club was missing, thus being what club Tommy has holding.  Tommy had honors, so the others had not played their shot.  Is that legal?   I do realize they did their homework during practice round and likely knew what club they would be hitting already.  Just curious...

My google searched didn't net any clear results

Yes, they can look in other bags. The rule is they can not verbally ask.

What was your search? There are thousands of results relating to this.

In any case, if a player or caddie doesn't want the other guy to know what he hit, they usually just throw a towel over the clubs. It's no big deal.

About to say same thing. I think this was a rather lazy google search if at all.😒
