HI,

I was wondering if I should shorten the length of my daughter's Ladies Rogue Driver.

And if it needs to be re weigh after shortening?

I did ask the store. One person said I should shorten, another person said no.

My daughter picked up golf 1 year ago and she is 5'3 (with shoes) wrist to floor 30.75 in. Her driver is 44.5 in (standard length). She is small and her swing power within the range of a ladies flex. Her driver distance is 150 to 180 yards. And she does slice the ball.

The Ping chart says to -1 inch. Not sure if it only refers to irons or includes drivers as well.

any inputs would be great!

For something like a driver, grip down for awhile before you make a decision.

This is what every pro has told me about Alina’s clubs. Have her grip down until the clubs fit her. Because she’s going to outgrow several golf clubs.

I am 5’3” and 30.5” wrist to floor (measured at fitting). My irons and driver are all 1/2”short (callaway) but woods are standard. My new driver (TM) is senior shaft but men std length. I have not shortened it yet but choked down and it plays fine.

My 15 year old Granddaughter is 5'6" and is using a 44.5", 10.5*  driver. Her swing coach said a shorter club was not the way to go at her age. He just has her gripping down on the club for right now.

She's getting her gamer ball out there near 190 yards. Ball tails off to the right towards the end of the carry.

Her instructor is going for distance first, then more on control.

That’s usually the way most instructors go with juniors. Distance then control. Alina (my 6-year-old) actually plays with clubs that are made for a 54” tall junior and she’s around 50” tall. She drives it around 125 yards and regularly shoots in the low 50s for 9 holes. (You should see her hit her hybrid, she’s more consistent with that, than I am with my 58° wedge!)

Appreciate that input. Makes a lot of sense. sounds like your grand daughter is going to be a very good golfer :))

    • Day 59: just a short bit of mirror work and foam balls. Working on the leg stuff throughout the swing.
    • Day 601 - 2026-05-25 Short-ish day with only some later Skillest lessons, so I stayed after and got some swings in. GEARS Hybrid was set up for a lefty, so… not that. 🙂
    • Day 21, May 25.  Hit "the whole bucket" as practice today after reviewing my Skillest lesson.  I think something crept into my swing last week that wasn't in the lesson, so I went back to the lesson and renewed my focus.  Each ball was a minute or so, 2-3 slow rehearsal backswings and checking the mirror for how far back I was going. "The whole bucket" means every ball I have in the bin at my indoor practice room;  I counted when I put them back, that's six dozen plus six total.  That is probably more full swings than I took over the weekend (excluding range warm-ups) in two rounds!  But these were all with a 6-iron.
    • Day 265 5-25 Hit some balls just to see where i was, no "thoughts' except getting arms in front. Did some recording where i focused on getting chest through and arms in front.
    • Day 76 (25 May 26) - Broke out the "vintage" clubs (MacGregor blades, Wilson 4150 laminates) to work with clubs that are much less forgiving.  Worked through the bag using hard foam balls for the full swings, regular balls for the chips and pitches.  Found it to be a more focused session on making consistent contact.
