Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) now affects 1 in 150 children. This number is getting lower each year and is now considered epidemic. I feel for the Els family and applaud his decision to increase awareness.

that's got to be unbelievably tough. men tend to wrap up their hopes and dreams in the son(s) and to know that those won't come true at such a young age is pretty tough to deal with.

Yes this is sad. I'll be the first to say that I have criticized Ernie for his lack of good play in recent years, and nothing I said wasn't valid, but news like this is just a reminder of how little we fans actually know about what is really going on in the lives of the people we follow in sports.

i aplaude ernie. on a lighter note, people with disabilities can be great to hang around with. i am in best buddies at my school. it is aimed towards bringing those with disabilities closer with "regular" people. they are so expressive and exited about everything, and i hope ernie and others can make the best out of situations like this.

I wonder why its becoming more widespread, maybe something in the food we eat or air we breathe? All of a sudden it's everywhere. Things like that are one reason I don't have kids.
