Hopefully he might start a streak and finish his second round better than the first, like last week... instead of quitting or shooting 8 or 9 over for a round.

As far as his beer gut interview....suprised no one has seen it for what it was....ADVERTISING ! For his new course, I even know the name now...Murder Rock. It was on most of the guys hats playing in the group. I saw it as a pathetic attempt, but damn sure got his bang for the buck for the "exposure", which cost the fat man nothing.....Well Done.

To my knowledge he's never been in prison for rape, bitten anyone's ear off, threatened to eat anyone's children, etc, etc, etc. He's nowhere close to Mike Tyson yet. He's a lazy waste of talent, but c'mon - Mike Tyson??

I'll defend this comparison. Tyson had the ability to be the greatest fighter of the last twenty, thirty years. He was completely dominating but lost all of it to: booze, drugs, women, partying, laziness, becoming grossly overweight, etc. John Daly is the same. Ask most pros. From an ability and pure talent aspect, who has more? Tiger? He even says that Daly's ability is off the charts. Yet, what do we see from Daly? The screwed up marriages, blowing off sponsors, missing tee times, dropping out of events where he received an exemption, etc. He's throwing it all, away...Just like Mike. Two larger than life individuals that still generate a buzz even when they are not performing. How many professional athletes can say that?

Look, I'm not defending Daly. I agree with you on all of the things you mentioned...But you left out the part about Tyson being a convicted rapist, biting off Holyfield's ear, and threatening to eat his opponents kids...all the stuff i already mentioned. Daly is lazy, self-destructive, and a lot of other things...but he's not as bad as Mike Tyson. There are a lot of similarities, but one really big difference - violent criminal behavior.

JD looks set to make a cut- 4 under for 9 holes- playing much better!

Hmm. That statement ("JD looks set to make a cut") might be a little premature . . .

ok, but whatever happens from now on, JD looks energised and im confident he'll put some good performances in this year. He's looking more supple!

Daly: says he doesn't drink on Tour

'The drinking thing is ridiculous. I don't drink on Tour, I haven't been drinking on Tour since I don't know when'.

He insists in the article that he is the subject of a witch hunt ands that the negative media publicity surrounding his split with coach Butch Harmon has caused him to lose a lucrative shirt deal with a big shopping Mal (K Mart i believe).

However, i think that Daly is playing better and looking better.

My bad on not reading the article, but I will.

Daly is an awful putter, bottom line. If he loses at least 25 pounds he could be competitive.

The commentators were saying he was spending more time on his putts, hell...I even saw him take a good look at a 4 footer. His putting was good today, watched it on tivo. He also said yesterday this country has his favorite foods...Pizza, Spaghetti, and Lasagne, so the big guy is getting his carb intake fer sure.

Nice round -5, he should make the cut, he looks like he is striking the ball good.

I bought a set of cheap John Daly branded clubs as a starter set - it had everything I needed with a great bag, which is important to me. Some hybrids, which I love to play, a great putter - really an awesome deal.

I had no idea who he was until I looked him up on the 'net a bit later, and couldn't help but grin while reading his history - I like black sheep. I was glad to see he's doing a bit better in his game.

JD does and interview shirtless and shoeless...lol!

WOW! Tha'ts amazing. I just read about this video, and the fact that he and Harmon are at ends. What is he thinking?! Seriously. Shoeless, alright, maybe. But shirtless on a golf course? His golf course? On camera?! WOW!

I remember volunteering at the Nissan Open a few years back, which was the week after a PGA Tour win for John. He looked happy as a clam and everyone was congratulating him on the range. He's come a long way. The wrong way...
