I bought 4 putters on eBay during lockdown - less than $65 each - as you do when bored.  Well they all got a good try out on proper grass in the end - A Nike Method, TM bronze looking Ardmore, YES Abbie, Ping Zing2 - at one time all these were all pretty expensive.  Well the Nike and TM went in a couple of weeks after grass testing - very good but not me.  The Zing was given away as one son really wanted it.  As was an ancient stainless blade from the 50's bought for £10 at this time - actually that was so amazing my son 'stole' it!  That left the YES Abbie.

Well the YES Abbie has actually displaced my Bettinardi Kuchar.   There's just something about how this putter works that for me outperforms everything I have ever had.  Has anyone else had this experience?  You run into a cheap putter (although the YES was when launched something like £250) - it was £50 on eBay!  And its just perfect.  Didn't Tom Watson do something like that with an old Ping Pal he found in a tub outside a pro shop?

I suppose the ultimate question is what do you think were the great putters that are out there now ..... selling for less than $65.  Ping Anser?  Odyssey 2 Ball?  Wilson 8802?

I had a Ping Karsten made for me several years ago.   I just couldn't aim it properly.    I walked into the a pro shop and they were selling old equipment.   I grabbed an older 2 ball putter and love the thing.   I'm about due for a new putter/fitting.

I’ve got two Cameron Newports. I got both on eBay for under $100. One has a dent on the top, the other is an older 2.5 with a slot in it. That is my primary. Both are set up to my fitting specs and I added weight to the 2.5.

I had a Ping Pal I used for two years - just an ordinary stainless one I bought on eBay for £25.  Makes you wonder if these $400 putters really kick in with better scores?  As I said to a playing partner one day - $300 invested in the putter and a Hershey bar for the guy on the other end- it wasn't a good investment profile that day!!

I bought a Ping Anser (1968) for $10 on eBay 5 years ago. It was probably $20 shipped. I put some work into polishing the head, and put in a new shaft and grip. It’s still my favorite putter. I switch between my Odyssey mallet and the Ping, but I always end up gravitating toward the Ping.
