Located just across from the first tee of famed Pebble Beach Golf Links, The Hay is a nine-hole short course designed by Tiger Woods & TGR Design.

$65, so now you can say you played Pebble for under a hundie? As well as a "Tiger Woods design"?

The yardage of eight holes at The Hay correspond to a significant year in Pebble Beach history, with plaques on each tee telling the story.

The putting green is free to use:

How awesome! This is how new golfers need to be introduced to the game -scaled down versions of what look like real courses. And I also wonder whether many of us would prefer to play this kind of golf more often than a "proper course". I mean - if you had full-time access to Augusta, maybe you'd rather just go and play the par 3 course, for example.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Interesting looking course. I have played a couple of par 3 courses and while they are challenging, I view them as introduction to golf. No doubt they still require good golf shots and par isn't a given on any hole, but many aspects of the golfing challenge are missing. You don't have to plan your way round a course for example. Unless you duff a tee shot, a second shot is rarely a full shot (generally a chip/pitch/flop/bunker shot) and hence hitting a shot off a difficult lie is rarely as difficult as a full swing due to the slower swing speed and shorter distance. Not that you can't still duff it or rack up huge scores on such a course

I saw this under construction, and it looked cool as hell.

Golf can only benefit from having many different "versions" - the more ways there are to play the game, the better off it is.

I'd play this, and probably really enjoy it.

Played it the morning of New Year's Eve. Greens were awesome; fast and true, with many false fronts and slopes. The staff treats you well and you definitely get a Pebble feel. Distances to pins are shot every morning and are posted with a tag on the tee marker. A daily "putting course" is set up and that is free to play if you play The Hay or not.

    • Day 67: back at it after a day off. Played 9 holes and did about an hour of range work. Filmed and checked on my priority piece. Think I’m doing some parts better and other parts worse. The 9 holes weren’t great - shot +7 - and everything was roughly a B-.
    • Day 609 - 2026-06-02 Was going to play, but the course was very obviously going to be slow, so went to the range instead. And even got (sorry @DeadMan), some putting practice in. Mostly got help at the range (a set of eyes), and mostly helped someone else at the putting green.
    • Day 273 6‐2 more reconnecting the arm infront. Wrist arching through swing. Its looking better than it was, but no where close to where it needs to be. For some reason having trouble with the arching lately.
    • Day 2 (2 Jun 26) - worked on keeping arms connected to torso by using stretch band.  Hit 1/4 backswing shots to reinforce the feel of the connection.
    • Carl Pettersson is the Pancake Zone. The Swedish Pancake Club, Ranked - Fried Egg Golf Keegan Bradley just won his fifth PGA Tour event and became the latest member of the Swedish Pancake Club. Here's a ranking of that exclusive group. It's his sixth win in a decent length career. He's nondescript. I think it says he doesn't make waves, wins some second-tier events, hasn't had many close finishes in the top three in majors… and that only hard-core golfers follow the week-to-week. P.S. Five wins as personified by Carl Pettersson is the Pancake Zone. From Shotgun Start, I should say. It's not Carl per se, it's five wins.
