Anyone here using the SkyTrak launch monitor?

I'm contemplating getting one for the winter season to use at my indoor driving range. The range facilities does not have wifi so I'm wondering if I can use my iphone as a hotspot to connect the SkyTrak and an ipad to the internet? (I want to use an ipad as well just cause it has a bigger screen than the phone).

Thankful for any tips.

You can of course use the phone for the WiFi.  However, a broadband WiFi is generally better in terms of speed and you may face a limit on how much internet you can use on the phone depending on your package.

My suggestion would be to try the setup you mentioned and see if it works well enough for what you need

What's in the bag

  • Taylor Made r5 dual Draw 9.5* (stiff)
  • Cobra Baffler 4H (stiff)
  • Taylor Made RAC OS 6-9,P,S (regular)
  • Golden Bear LD5.0 60* (regular)
  • Aidia Z-009 Putter
  • Inesis Soft 500 golf ball

Speed and GB limit is not an issue. The reason I’m asking is that the common setup seems to be to connect the Skytrak to WiFi and then connect your tablet/computer etc. directly to the skytrak. I would like to hear from someone who has actually tried this before I spend 2000+.

I've done it. I'm not sure what the question is, but I wouldn't recommend using your phone as the WiFi hotspot.

Visit that URL (the image is a link) and read about it. It works fine. The SkyTrak and the iPad or computer connect to each other via your home Internet.

    • Here is one of my swings where I made what felt like good contact. This isn’t a full speed swing but maybe it should be because a big fault of mine is over swinging. So what im working on is, from A4 my first move has been hands going out toward the ball. This seems to have caused tons of inconsistencies for years. I’ve just made it work with decent hand eye coordination, I guess. Like I said previously, the swing thought/feel is from A4, the lead arm/hands drop down and back to start. Then I feel like my hands get as close to my quads as possible. I’ve never come close to this because my brain never believed contact could be made from there.   Also, this all began when I decided to get the early extension and flipping out. Overall goal is a consistent swing and ball flight and get into some tournament play and get competitive in my club championship.  Hope I get this right, I haven’t done it in a while.        Disregard the pants…I got hot in the garage..😀 I also thought I clicked the audio off on the video but obviously did not.
