Golf Commercials... The Good, Bad, & Ugly

In another post we were talking about those meatheads in the Slazenger commercial... many have said while they may have considered playing the ball in the past, they definately would NOT now. I agree... this commercial is stupid... and those guys need to get pounded.

Another commercial that pisses me off is the met-life one. Guy is hitting driver off tee and slices... bounces off a blimp and a few other things... then lands on the green next to three other balls. They are hitting drivers... all three walk up to next shot and they are all right next to the hole... was it a long par 3 and all hit amazing shots... with driver... or was it a short Par 4 and all hit amazing shots... stupid commercial!

The couple I like are the one were the guys smash the laptop while talking to the boss and the one where the guy's daughter is sick and he has to pick her up (while wearing golf attire and his golve).

I LOVE the Slazenger commercial! I found it annoying the first couple of times I saw it, but am I the only one who finds it amusing that the two meatheads need another three dozen balls between them AT THE TURN!?

yeah... I've often wondered about that part of the commercial as well. Either the meatheads are tearing the shi* out of the balls with their wedges and the balls are not very durable... or they loose a ton of balls.

Yes the UGLY -
The Slazenger Raw commericals are enough to make me vomit. I don't know any golfers like those meatheads in the commercials so I am always wondering who are these commericals supposed to be marketing too?

BAD-
Met life commercial. Pretty Bad, mainly because it is on all the time. That guy in the commercial who has his ball ricochet in the cup is in so many commercials right now..

GOOD-
I like all the Fed Ex commercials.
The hole in one guy at kinkos.
The Dummy at the video conference while their buddy races off to the course
The guys with laptop - "That was close"

FAVORITE -
The Fex Ex commercial with the guy who says "My daughter is sick and I need to go and pick her up at the school" -- cracks me up everytime.

I really like the Boom commercials for Bridgestone but hate the commercials where the ball races the car, both Tiger with Tag and the Bridgestone commercial

I find the winn grip commercial with daly, harmon, and gulbis to be annoying

I like most of the NXT Commercials with John Cleese. Notably the great round he is having with a NXT ball that is disguised. Also the finger puppets one where he asks his puppet: "am I too worried about this" or something like that, and the finger puppet answers! My son and I played that over and over and laughed till we cried.

I could never figure out what that guy was saying!! Thanks and you are all right, just an awful commercial. I am sick of seeing the Cialis commerical where the guy and his wife knock the faucet off the sink and laugh while trying to get it back on. Is Cialis supposed to make you an idiot too? Or are we supposed to think that the wife is saying afterwards "Wow, honey, I love the way you use the wrench on that broken faucet. You are so sexy, go take a pill!!! "

Yeah no doubt! What is with the taking a bath in seperate bathtubs in the middle of a field? Nothing like a lukewarm bath in a seperate tub to get ya worked up....

If you are talking about the "go long or go home" commercial then yes it is pretty funny. It definitely sums up JD's philosophy on golf/life. I dont know what is worse his singing or his recent golf game...

The funniest are the footjoy commercials with the stubborn caddy.

I love the one where hes immitating Ernie Else at Troon in the clubhouse and hits some kind of glass thing when he swings the club.

Or Ian Poulter trying to sneak into the house with his new footjoys, when his wife catches him.

Any of the Sign Boy ones are great. I also like the new Foot Joy one where Cabrerra is checking out the shoe and commenting to his caddie about how great they are and then you see that Vijay's foot is in the shoe.

Crawf061, nice youtube commercials. Man, I could watch that clip of him at the Masters 16th chipping in all day. Still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. The best part is Lundquist: "IN YOUR LIFE... HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT?!"
That is one of my favorite quotes of all time. Since then, whenever any one of my buddies drops a long bomb or holes a long chip, someone will say "IN YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
