TV Coverage Choices

I was reading in GOLF magazine that BBC offers two channels (BBC1 & BBC2) of coverage on golf tournaments and each channel covers different holes and players so that viewers get a better chance at seeing the holes and players they wish to see, rather than have the TV show director choose what you see.

I have almost quit watching PGA Tour coverage as it always seems to be the Tiger Woods show, even when he's not on the leader board, and frankly even when he is on the leader board, I don't want to watch him. Right now I wall always choose LPGA or Champions Tour TV coverage over PGA coverage, unless Tiger is not playing. I''ll watch Asian Tour or European Tour or even amateur putt-putt before Tiger.

The Golf Channel has gotten awful too as it seems more than half of its shows are about Tiger Woods.

I would watch more TV golf coverage if given a choice to watch something other than Tiger Woods.

Maybe what is needed is a Tiger Woods golf channel for his worshipers, and a non-Tiger golf channel for the rest of us and for the rest of the professional golfers.

Three or even four golf channels would be wonderful as long as their coverage varies.

I would watch the golf on the internet but ive reached my download limit this month for reasons i won't go in to..lol!

Considering there's ESPN and ESPN2, CSPAN and CSPAN2, MTV and MTV2, etc., it shouldn't be long before there's a Golf Channel 2 (GC2?). The ideal way would be golf on-demand, where you can choose a player or a hole and only watch that.

yes the BBC have done a great job this year,I have been watching the amen corner coverage,you get to see all the players as they come through (no commercial breaks) and when the last group is done you change channels and see the closing stages, BRILLIANT

DirecTV has done a mix channel for this years masters. It covers Amen Corner, hole 15-16 and normal coverage, as well as the days highlights. They also have the leaderboard to view. It is quite nice, I wish all touneys were like this. BTW you can view any of those channels in full screen and they are all high def....sweet.

I know what you mean SirMilton, but honestly, people watch golf to watch tiger. Im certainly not one of them who wants to see only tiger, although i certainly enjoy watching him play. people who dont play golf watch tiger. unfortunately, a lot of people believe Tiger is the game of golf. he certainly is the number one player in the world, but youre right, it does get a little too "tiger, tiger, tiger"
