I love the Slazenger Raw Distance balls, I've loved Slazengers for years and now they are only 10 bucks for a dozen

I love to hate this damn game.

Top Flit D2 Feel. 15 dollars for 15 balls. Pretty good balls too.

I second that.....I've found them for as cheap as $12 for 15

Whoa! Back up....beep...beep.....beep. The best balls that are cheap are FREE. If you want really good balls cheap you need to simply spend a little time on one or two golf holes in the "slicer's alley". That will allow you to play some good balls like Pro V1, NXT Tour, B330, etc. I buy occasionally but I try every so often to go ball hunting. Save money.

Competely agree with ya Fro. I go ball hunting on occassion and find tons of great balls. I live on a golf course and have found as many as fifty Pro-V1s. Another great bet is eBay. There are tons of bulk deals on golf balls there.

Since you're probably looking for golf balls under $15 the ones I like are Dunlop Locos, the Maxfli Fires, Precept XP3. The Pinncale Golds have been touted as good low-priced balls but I could never get into them, I do prefer the Pinnacle Exception but they're more expensive.

If you don't mid using recycled golf balls, I was able to pick up a 24 pack of Srixzon ZURCs for $14.99 and they play really nice and soft like the Pro V1x and stop on a dime.

Best bet play a few nice courses and walk around the water holes and ball hauck. That is your best bet for cheap balls. Rock Flite D2's are pretty nice too.

Last weekend I was in Walmart looking at balls when the guy working the sporting goods department told me about the clearance section. I walked over and found the Maxfli Fire balls (3 piece balls) for $5.00 a dozen. I ended up with 10 boxes and they hit pretty damn good.

If you Walmart still has them, I suggest you try those. Unbeatable for the money.

I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

Started using the Nike TD soft/long and like them so far. They are only 19.99 per dozen at my local golf shop.

I found a Pinnacle CLR on a putting green and played with it a few times. I was surprised at how good it felt off the putter. It is long off the tee and has just enough spin to work control around the greens, if they are soft.

I bought a dozen and might use them on days when the greens are wet or very soft. On firm greens it would be hard to hold any shot coming in from any distance.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
