I'll be playing golf with a couple of buddies in Woodland Hills, CA next weekend. Looking for a decent course under $50 to ride on the weekend. Suggestions?

$50 on a wwekend with a cart is a really hard commodity in L.A. I would have to say, an impossibilty. I recommend Rustic Canyon in Moorpark. It's about 30 minutes from WH. Been on Golf Digest's list of best innexpensive public courses a few times.

Also try RiverRidge in Oxnard. Don't know the going rate these days but it might be near your target. Also close by there is Olivas Links, which I've heard pretty rave reviews about, although I haven't played it since the redesign.

$50 with a cart on the weekends.. maybe Simi Hills. Otherwise, municipal courses (Woodley, Encino, Balboa, etc.)

I played Olivas a couple of weeks ago. Greens are nice and fast. Fairways nothing special. The mushroom farm nearby produces an almost unbearable odor. The whole course smelled like a big outhouse.

Knollwood in Reseda is pretty fun. lots of space, so you shouldn't lose too many balls.

Hansen Dam is pretty wide as well.
