A look back at Vin Scully's memorable call of Dodgers pitcher Sandy Koufax's perfect game at Dodger Stadium on Sept. 9, 1965.

There has never been a play-by-play broadcaster like Vin Scully, who passed away on Tuesday at age 94. His legendary voice was a constant companion for baseball fans, and particularly Dodgers fans, for 67...

Ouch...that Gibson highlight really hurt as an A's fan. Vin Scully always got the call on the 18th at PGA tournaments back in the day.

    • Greetings Central Ohio Golfers.  This is as late of notice as is possible. I normally wouldn't use the forum for this kind of thing. But I'm stuck.  I'm looking for a golfing sub for The Bent Tree Golf League tonight. I just got back into town. My partner in the league just got call out of town. Both the guys who usually sub for me are unavailable. If anyone wants to play and can get to Bent Tree G.C. tonight, Wednesday 5/7/25 for a 5:22 PM tee-time you can sub in and be my partner for 9 holes. It's already paid for. Just let me know you want to play and you can play.  First person to message me or respond to this thread is in.  By the way, if you can't make it tonight we are often looking for subs. So, if you'd like to be in consideration for being a sub at some future date. message me and I'll keep you on the list for future subbing requirements.  If you want to play tonight let me know. If you want to play in the future let me know.
    • I am considering replacing my 2013 9.5 degree stiff shaft Cobra Ampcell S driver. I think my swing speed of mid 90's might benefit from a softer shaft and more loft. I do not want to spend a lot on a new club or even a top end used club like Ping G430. I know the right answer is get on a launch monitor and see what works for me. But, being in South Africa, there is a miniscule used club market and all I can find will have to be mailed from another town. I would be grateful for views on the following options that are cheap and I like the look of: Ping Rapture V2 10.5 degrees regular TFC 939 shaft, Ping Anser 9.5 degrees regular and Ping G20 10.5 degrees Alta 55g regular.

    • I am marshalling at the Truist this week. Philadelphia Cricket is a great old Tillinghast track. It only tops out at around 7,100 yards so these guys might tear it up but it shouldn't take away from how good it is. Unfortunately, because of spectator restrictions around the 18th green, they aren't playing the traditional routing. The 18th hole will play as the 11th hole.
    • I am marshaling at the Truist this week at Philly Cricket. During the practice round yesterday, I was at the 5th tee when Justin Rose came by and I asked, are you going to keep your Philly streak going? He looked at me and paused for a second and then laughed and said, that would be nice. He's won at Aronimink and Merion. It would be a nice trifecta.
