There is one thing you cannot deny: Nothing beats the feeling of a solidly struck three iron that is tracking the pin.

I completely agree with this. I was 210 out yesterday uphill and knew that pulling a hybrid would be too long unless i controlled it right..but I could swing away with a 3 iron...... 7 feet away from the cup for bird.

I also agree with the fact that it doesn't have to be one or the other. I love my 3 iron..but for longer shots that I need to land softer, I'll move to a 3 hybrid. But, I did just pick up a 2 hybrid from tour edge b/c I definitely don't think keeping a 2 iron in the bag is the right thing for me.

I personally am about a 15 handicap and I play a 3 and 4 hybrid. I can hit a 3 or 4 iron nearly as well, but I feel more comfortable that I am going to get the ball up and straight with my hybrid, than I would with a low iron. It's personal preference, but for any new golfer or one with a high handicap I would recommend hybrids.

    • Day 82: mirror work again tonight. Working on the same shoulder down and roll and twist stuff. Going on vacation tomorrow and putting the clubs down, so new streak starts in about 10 days!
    • Day 44, June 17.  Today was some preliminary stretching, exploring what I'll want to set up as a regular routine (both while on vacation without clubs and when I'm back) (aside: this is part of an upcoming goal to stretch daily in a meaningful way, but I don't plan to count it as practice on days that I can meaningfully practice with a club)
    • Having a rough week. Went to the Dr. because I was really weak and could hardly swing my driver.  I take Propranolol 20 mg tablets twice a day. Seems like the Propranolol was driving my pulse down (low 50's).  So we cut the dosage in half and I started taking my blood pressure. It was a little high but pulse came up.   Then yesterday I raised it to 15 mg tab by taking it 3 times a day. Blood pressure 127 / 77 Pulse 75.  Heading out tomorrow morning for 18 holes.    I have my driver set at 10.5* but seem to have my swing speed to low and I can't get the lift on the ball I need.  I have not played this week in hopes I will have the strength to raise my swing speed. I may have to raise my loft to 12* . (I will take my driver wrench) tomorrow. (This Parkinson's is a pain in the butt.)  Will give you a report when I get back.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • You still got to lift your arms. You basically just roll your wrist over in the 1st half of the backswing.
    • Day 288 6-17 Low point control without ball. hit quite a few swing where i was wanting the club to hit the ground.  Added a ball with towel behind it, just to see where im at. Wasn't horrible but need some more work. Pretty much full speed swings.
