It's good but not worth the price tag... I own one but if I didn't, I would buy another putter. Does have good feel to it though but a lot of other cheaper putters have good feel if you find the right one. A lot of people might disagree but this is JMHO.

As a former SC collector, as I sold all of them..lol, it's a matter of opinion. I have to say that the TeI3 series do feel pretty awesome. I also think it's a matter of pride in the equipment you have. At my highest peak of my collection I had 12 SC's at one time. Although I have never putt with one, I hear that the "009" SC's are the bomb and then you have your "SSS" and "GSS"..but I digress.

For me I had my ideal set and I wanted to top everything off with a SC..and then it got addicting..go check out The Cameron Collector for more info and the insanity..lol Something about a well maintained Newport oil can though..it just makes you want to putt better.

I agree with you....The Cameron Collector is insane... I am addicted bad.

If you can afford to get an SC, and you want one, then I say you should go ahead and get one. Try it out, see if you like it. Then new Studio Stainless Series is awesome. If you decide that you want something different, they will hold their value better than any other putter out there.

Bought one about two months ago, and from my experience I didnt like it.
SC Circa 62' #3, giving it to my older brother for his birthday present.

Not that my other option is any cheaper, but I think its all personal preference really. If you can deal with dropping that kind of dough for a putter you really wont be disappointed. Great putter, just not my style.

Nothing more beautiful than a Scotty, want to replace mine with a blacked out pingman grip so I can be just like tiger... But seriously great putter, headcover collecting alone is enough to go for broke. Putting is all about confidence, if that comes from a name, so be it.

Of course they are nice putters, but not better than any of the other top brands. If they were, they would be used by all pros and top amateurs, a swell as those who could afford them and had to pay for them. There is a lot of clever marketing - the GSS nonsense- and calling the factory the "studio". etc. If you wonder about the hype, visit The Cameron Collector. A more sycophantic collection of fetishists you will not find anywhere. One particularly sickening thread was about a guy who bought his son a Cameron putter for his 11th birthday (or thereabouts) and the attitude was that it was almost a gift of religious significance. (Given that the boy's name was Noah, stamped on the putter, it's not surprising). Very unhealthy, in my opinion, as this child obviously was taught that he had something which was "better". Another story I read somewhere was about how Davis Love and his son were collectors. A 12 year old, a "collector"? I ask you...... A list of pros who use them is not proof that they are the best putters. Some of them of course are great, but the mystique seems to lie in the resale value of some of them (particularly 009 models of course) and the blatant pandering to consumerism of the covers. Why would you want one "so bad" unless you thought that ownership of one implied something about you. Try a bunco of putters out. the one you prefer migt be a Cameron, but you should like it because it is a nice putter, not a Scotty cameron.

I agree, it is all just brilliant marketing. Although that does not take away from the fact that it is a nice product, and can have alternative value.

Most definitely. Couldn't agree more. Nothing wrong with pride of ownership and owning things which are made properly. Some SC putters certainly are things of beauty.

You are way off here pods. They are great putters. It is of course dependent upon the individual, but don't even try and make a comparison or degrade those that appreciate fine craftsmanship.

And if you haven't noticed, it seems that there are a lot of winners on the PGA tours who use Camerons. I won't even list them for you, because it is pretty obvious. yea I know, Odyssey does make a good stick, but from a resale perspective, can you custom order an Odyssey or any other brand? Not unless you are Phil Mickelson or Chad Collins. Can you get your name put on it from the factory? Can you change the finish? Can you change the lie and weight? Can you call and talk to a person at the shop about what you want? No. You can't. That is why they are more expensive. That is why they are collectors items. By the way, I have been a "collector" of many things (sports cards, stamps, rocks, coins) since I was very young. And by the time I was 12, shit, I was in my prime. How dare you degrade a father giving his son something that he feels is special, especially when it is. That putter is better than all the rest. Because his father gave it to him. Because it has his name on it. And because it is a Cameron. And picking on Davis Love, a professional golfer, for collecting putters with his son. WOW. Maybe they are worth collecting then huh? Are the Pings and Odysseys that were sold 2 years, 4 years, or 6 years ago worth even 50% of what they were purchased for? Not even a chance. However, I do completely agree with your point that it is all in the hands of the roller. Go with whatever you like, whatever feels comfortable, and of course, whatever you can afford. Not having a "Scotty Cameron" does not put any golfer at a disadvantage by any means. In reality, they are meant for better players. The new Taylor Made's and the Odysseys are excellent sticks with great alignment aids, awesome insert technology, and sweet spot optimization. I still love my Rossie. Sorry for the rant I just can't let you get away with degrading not only a finely made club, but the people who use and/or collect them. Roll em straight!!!!

Here's one for you. How many LPGA players use Cameron putters? Do you think that SC would think that giving them to female players degrades the brand. Food for thought there. My point about Davis Love's son is that I don't think a 12 year old has the means to be a "collector" of items that sell in the thousands of dollars. If Davis Love gives his son thousands of dollars pocket money, I would not see that as a positive thing. If they do it together, and Davis spends his money, great. Just don't call a child a "collector" Regarding the other father, again, my point is that it is instilling a very warped view in the mind of a child when he is encouraged to believe that name brands are always worthy of the hype that surrounds them. If you can find a quotation in my post that degrades these putters, please point it out to me. Generally, though, I think we are in agreement.
