Might I suggest, instead of spending time on a golf forum filling up a spam thread, playing golf?

Generally frowned upon, when an admin closes a thread, to start another thread talking about the one that was closed.

That would be cool if it had actually gotten out of hand and people were attacking each other or something like that. The thread was learning about the people on this board and making friends. I could care less about post count. I frequent many boards. This one was at the top of the ones I checked, but when over zealous mods start closing threads, when it doesn't make sense, I lose interest. Similar to when a TV network shuts a show down, I tend to not watch that network as much, fearing that I will enjoy another show, which will be shut down.

As I said to you in the PM, I stated my reasons when I closed it. Additionally, if you're here on a golf forum because of a thread that has nothing to do with golf, quite frankly, I'm not sure why you're here to begin with.

It's not about "learning about the people on this board" because what were most of the posts? "Has an old TaylorMade driver." "Has a higher handicap than me." "Has a cool avatar." Wooo, you're learning so much. I think, for example, my "I believe" thread helps you learn a heck of a lot more about people than "Say omething about the person ahead of you." Your reaction to the closing of what was basically a spammy, post-boosting, annoying thread is silly and overplayed. Again, this is a golf forum. Though occasional off-topic posts are welcome (politics, home loans - whatever you want), an off-topic TOPIC-LESS thread is just clutter. If that means you won't be visiting, so be it. You apparently weren't hear to talk about golf to begin with.
