I was just wondering about getting fitted with my new irons, how much does it cost and is it really worth it

Yes it's worth it!

What irons are you buying? Some companies do fitting for free when they know you're buying a set. I got my Mizuno irons & wedges fit for me for free at a Roger Dunn tent sale, by a Mizuno representative, after telling him I was planning to buy the MP-57s. I think Ping does free fitting. I would be very surprised if other companies didn't do it for free, too.

I got my irons fit for free when I bought my new set...shaft angle, length and grips all changed for nothing. If it's not offered by the manufacturer, try work a deal with the store. I did a bit of both.

I bought these new from a individual so I am going to have to go to a pro shop to get it done is the reason I was wondering how much it cost

Most will do it for free. I have seen a few that charge $50 when they have a launch monitor, but it gets refunded from the purchase price if you buy clubs. Mizuno did this at a local club with a Vector Launch Monitor a few weeks back.

Ping does it all for free. I love their product, but this is what got me into Ping in the first place. A local pro was Ping's Canadian clubfitter of the year about 5 years ago, and Ping does numerous demo days with him and they bring in the launch monitor twice a year. I got all fitted up and they really give you individual attention in the fitting process. When the launch monitor is in town they fly in fitters who are specially trained on them. I know a few people who have gone to Ping and TaylorMade's fitting centers and they said it was an unbelievable process.

Whatever brand you are buying, it is definitely worth getting fitted. Just make sure the person doing it has a good history and reputation.

Another vote for getting fitted.

Absolutely get fitted. As for cost, if you have any kind of purchase history with a shop, you most likely can get them to do it for free. Same if you give them reason to believe you will use them again in the future.
