Hello,

I am really new to golfing, and mostly go to the driving range alone. So since I really have no one to teach me, I was wondering if anyone knew any good free videos I can watch online that can teach me the basics of a good golf swing? I plan on taking lessons in the near future, but would prefer to get a solid base before I do.
So would anyone happen to know any?

Thanks,

I'm new as well and these videos by Shawn Clement have been very helpful.

In my Warbird Hot:

3 Wood: Mercury Golf MR Jumbo 16*
Irons: X-20 4-AW
Putter: 33" Rossa FontanaShoes:Footjoy Contour

Thanks guys,

I've watched a few of them and they've been a great help. One thing I hate however is I'll watch the video's and get a grasp for it. But then when I'm at the range, I'll forget parts. Mostly the positions of each iron.

Hello,

Its not video, but you can learn a lot from Greg Norman's Instant Lessons book which he has put up for free on his website.

You want to look for videos on the ONE PLANE swing.

Also, get the book, Ben Hogan's Five Lessons: Fundamental Lessons of Golf. It's about $12 or so.

I think you can learn some things over at www.swingacademy.com .

I suggest also buying your own video recorder. Think of the video recorder as the 15th club in your bag, just as important as buying a new driver. If you can kind of figure out what you are doing and then record it so you don't get out what you do when you are playing well, it will make you an entirely better golfer.

I also suggest www.perfectswinggolfreview.net

Hello,

To be really honest......... i would not bother watching all the free ones, by different coaches etc. I would suggest spending the money, and buying a couple of dvd's from a golf store (online is best) from the same golf coach (eg, Butch Harmon etc) and watch them instruct from the basics. I serious believe that watching too many various videos from various instructors will just confuse you, as they all have their own methods. And finally, you cannot beat a PGA approved golf instructor. it is WELL worth the money to have a few lessons, especially as your just starting out. The last thing that i would like to see if you throw away the sport after a short period because you didn't create a good enough basic golf foundation. just my thoughts.
