I can assure you such a thing will not fly by the fiancee. She is not dumb. At all. I don't date dumb women. :)

My wife is not lacking in the brain department either...however, she could give a flip about golf or fishing, so she doesn't keep a running tab on every purchase I make...

when your wife asks, tell her that you got it b/c you wanted it. b/c you needed it & b/c it was time for a new one.

I've done that a lot in the past..... and then had to suck it up and buy a piece of jewelry...or get her concert tickets or something...
find out a show that she wants in your area...and surprise her with that...along with your brand new putter...you can roll up the tickets into a cyl..and then use the brand new putter to put the tickets over to her.... haha.
