Who do you want to win the finals and why?

Even though I am from NY I hope the Celtics do it because KG, Peirce, and Jesus Shuttlesworth (aka Ray Allen) all have huge hearts and are deserve it way more than that a** Kobe.

I didn't hear the story but my gut reaction is there no reason to disbelieve it.

Will you all stop calling Phil a phony, please.

So this is what he meant when he said he was going for Wilt's scoring record on the court instead (after the whole Katelyn Faber thing). And here I was thinking he was going to try for 101+ points in a game.

I want the Lakers to win. I hate the Celtics, I hate Boston, and I want to see the championship back with LA.

The only time my mom ever disappointed her father was by becoming a Lakers fan (after moving to L.A.) after being raised a Celtics fan (in Boston). Still, the prevailing attitude out here seems to be that being the best team in the eastern conference is like being valedictorian of summer school.

That's the problem with sports. People don't pay attention to facts and then argue their opinions. One team, the Boston Celtics, had the best record in the NBA, they also possessed the best road record, they also had the most dominant inter-conference record, absolutely smacking around the Western Conference, going 25-5. They also smacked the team they are playing in the Finals, twice, with Andrew Bynum, who was playing as well as Pau Gasol is now. The Lakers were 28-16 when they made the trade and in first place. I'm tired of hearing how Gasol made the Lakers better when they were just as good with Bynum. Look at his numbers. They were the same as Gasol's.

But I digress. I don't want to bore people with the truth.

Sorry man. I didn't mean to imply that I disliked the Celtics. I rarely watch basketball and only placed a bet since a friend was taking all bets. The bet was small, too: a round of golf. And hey, win or lose, it means I'm going to play another round of golf.

In retrospect, this was stupid of me to write it the way I did.

No Shin. I was not referring to you. You stated that people out West are treating the Celts like a second class team. It's just one of my pet peeves when things are said, negatively, about a team that has been dominant all year long.

The reverse is true, too. I'm a Yankee fan and there are some fans who think Derek Jeter invented baseball. Sorry if it came across as I was going after you. I was'nt.

Now that the Mavericks have fallen away, I gotta go for the Celtics. They were my favorite team across all sports all through the 80's!

The refs have been calling it pretty tight, too. Watch, they'll let them "play" in the second half but start making crazy calls late in the 4th Quarter. It just happens all too frequently. That elbow call on Kobe and the illegal screen on KG, resulting in a T, were just BS.

This is dumb, the refs called two bad fouls on Kobe early, but now Kobe is getting fouled a lot, but is not getting any calls. I'm not a Lakers fan, but I want a well officiated game.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
