Hole 1 and 16 really came up to bite ya. I have had these also and it's not fun. Especially getting that extreme high when you birdie or have a drive of your life and then coming out on the next hole with a triple

Yeah...I had one club too many in my hands from the middle of the fairway on 1. Then I had never played hole 16 before in my life (new 9...) and didn't know that there was trouble so close to the 10 yard wide fairway. Ended up taking an unplayable...then three putting. Fun times...

I had a gift certificate for a free foursome with riding carts at Winnetka Golf Club in Winnetka, IL. We headed up there on the 5th to play and when we got there (about an hour drive) we found they were not allowing gas carts because they had so much rain overnight and the course has absolutely no drainage, apparently. We decided to try and hoof it, but between the standing water on the fairways, the heat and the humidity it made for an awfully interesting round to say the least.

I started off 5/10/3/10 before leveling off to my usual 5.5 strokes a hole average.

After playing the front we decided to get a bit to eat in the clubhouse and determine if we wanted to attempt the back.

We just went home instead. Didn't want to die of heat stroke.

Seems to happen to me more than I care for, I seem to play good shot, bad shot golf every now and then. Here is the latest example where I had the most birdies I ever had in a round and follwed most of them with a big number.

Today was definitely one of those roller coaster rounds for me. First 5 holes on the front 9, either had good drives, chipping or putting - of course all 3 weren't allowed to occur on the same hole, which led to some interesting scores of 7, 7, 7, 6, 8...after that I started to settle down had a couple of pars...and then the 9th I couldn't do much of anything right...blew a 20ft birdie put about 15ft past the hole

back 9 though, I had putts for birdie, or par all the way around, and really started to dial in the new driver to the point where on 18 I blew my drive out around 320yds (421yd hole...had ~100yds in)
