Hi everyone!
My Name is John. I've been popping in and out and tried to introduce myself previously, but I couldn't start a thread at time. so here goes.
My wife and I had moved to the Carolinas 3years ago from NY. I've been grooving on the fact that most of the courses down here are open 364 days a year. My brother in CT curses me when I tell him that my father in law and I golfed on Xmas Eve. I love it!
However, I still bring my Northeast suckiness to the course regularly and I hope to indulge upon all of your sageness to help in rectifying all the bad habits that still plague me at times.
I'm a graphic/production artist for a major pre press company here and if I can help anyone here who owns Mac with issues you may be having, I'm at your disposal. Cheers!

Hi and welcome. I just joined myself and also can't start a thread. I am located in Burlington, NC so I guess you could say we are neighbors. Good luck with your golf. I have just started playing again after several years of not playing (only couple of times in last 4-5 years). I used to shoot around 80....now looks like low 90's so I've got some work to do.
HAPPY GOLFING

"Hello from the Triad, NC", he said.

I, of course, am the only one who read this message and wondered, "What in the heck is the Triad?"

On to google - it's actually the Piedmont Triad ---> Greensboro, Winston-Salem & High Point.

Who says you can't learn something new every day?

Thanks Jaymst and welcome yourself! Best of luck with your game. With a little practice you'll be back on your game in no time.

    • Live Updates from the range! Open the club face at address, and trust that you’re gonna be able to get the face in a good position at impact. I don’t have to feel like I have to keep the face open throughout the entire downswing. The swing feels much more free-flowing through impact. Difference in ball flight is that previously it would be a low to mid trajectory that starts straight and draw left, or slight pulls. New ball flight are high push draws.  It’s kind of stupid. I feel like it should slice off the planet. I look up and it’s maybe a slight push. 🤣 Some distant wedge feels. More weight on front foot. Keep weight on front foot.  Pivot around left knee. Solid contact all the time.

    • Day 2:  I hit a bucket of balls this morning.  Not gonna lie, almost didn’t go since it was my first time going alone and it was a little intimidating.  I mostly hit with my driver (the last bit of balls was with my 7 iron).  The sun was in my face but I think the ones that had good contact with went the furthest yet (maybe 150 yards then a good roll?).  Once I switched to my 7, the first half of my balls were crap.  I’ve always hit my irons before my driver when practicing and done fine - does this make any difference or is it just because I’m so green?
    • It's likely per "category" of clubs, so irons would be one category, wedges would be a category, driver a category, fairway woods/hybrid a category, etc. They aren't going to charge you $50 per iron for a fitting. Almost all iron fittings are done with like a 6 or 7 iron, fitters don't carry full sets of every iron. So yes, if you use a 7 iron for the fitting and let's say you get fit into the P790 with a certain shaft, 1 degree flat and .5" longer than normal you would just order the full set of P790s with that shaft/lie angle/length combination and you'll be perfectly fine.
