If classic means the saddle style golf shoes, then I'm a sneaker guy. I'm assuming my Adidas Powerbands are sneaker style, right?

Powerbands are not "sneaker" golf shoes. This is what I would consider a "sneaker" golf shoe.

I prefer both classic and sneaker style golf shoes, I don't think there's anything wrong with either style of golf shoes, I use a pair of classic footjoys and sneaker style nike air tour tw 8.5's, nothing wrong with 'em at all ...

Sneaker all the way - too many of the classics look like bowling shoes to me.

Anything other than classic "spits in the face" of golf?? Wow. Havent heard that one before.

Its just one man's opinion, take it for whatever its worth.

I also play with woods that actually have wooden heads and Ive been know to wear a Tam O'Shanter hat and knickers when Im out on the course, so it could be said that I take tradition to the extreme.

All my shoes have been classic golf shoes, but my best score was with sneaker style golf shoes.

I usually wear the classic styles (have 4 pairs) but haven't found any that offer the support and comfort like my old pair of sneakers do. So I bought me a pair of the Adidas Powerband Sport Golf shoes. These look like sneakers and they feel like them too. I just got them today and can't wait to try them out on the course. I also have to have orthotics in the left shoe and these are roomy enough for them! I really hope these work out....they have good reviews and also have pink stripes on em!

Not sure what you'd consider these. They aren't really sneakers..

Most comfy shoe I've ever worn wish they made them without spikes

classic... the sneaker ones just look bad imo. When your on a golf course, you should look like a golfer. And sneaker golf shoes just dont make the cut

That is perfectly said.

Most people wearing sneakers on the course get laughed at and called the "sneaker brigade". Why would you want to look like part of the sneaker brigade?

You don't have to get a saddle style shoe if you think they look like an old stuffy pair of shoes, there are a lot of styles out there that look "cool" without making you look like part of the sneaker brigade. Everyone should own a pair of leather soled golf shoes.

Note: I do not consider those addidas to be sneaker style golf shoes.

I do think however that with the influx of Nike and Adidas to the forefront of the golf world, more and more styles are coming about. I still prefer FJs and love the classic style, but Im a little over the top with my shoes.

If you have those shoes in your Display picture that is absolutely amazing.

Have you ever ordered shoes off the FJ site using the My Joys custom shoe app?

Those are smooth. They have style, they look classy. And this is coming from a golf shoe snob who thinks that Walter Genuin's and Foot Joy Classics should be mandatory in everybody's golf locker.

I do have those shoes. I bought them from Golflocker for $80. They are MyJoys and were a mistake I guess. We have a golflocker.com physical store here (i think its the only one) and they have a lot of MYjoy errors.

    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
