Going to play Bethpage within a few weeks (my own family 'us open'). I'm tuning up the driver, and cutting out my slice. Tweaking the putter and ditching the yipes.

Has anyone use their car to get there? Any caveats? How is the parking?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, a lot of pressure. Rise above it. Harness in the good energy, block out the bad. Harness energy, block bad.

There's plenty of parking. The difficulty is getting the tee time. You've got one?

Do you have a tee time? I think you mean the Black and if so tee times are not released for seven days prior to your day of play. I would make one if I were you otherwise you'll be sitting around for a while, esp. if your with a few people. As for parking there is plenty of that there.

Tee times on the black are notoriously hard to get. I live about 10 min from the course, and have yet to play there because it has turned into a circus. To many people with 30+ handicaps out there making every round into a 8 hour marathon.

Tee times are allowed to be made 7 days in advance and I believe the call in time is at 7pm. By 7:05 most or all of the times are gone. I have know people who went to the club house like 3 days and have been able to make a tee time by bribing the right people.

I would suggest trying the red if you cant get on the black. I know it isnt as glamorous. But it is still a great course. Or even try Eisenhower (spelling?) red, I believe they have tournaments there every year and it is another very nice course.

Your best bet as a out of stater is to get there at 5:00am and take what they got usually around 2:00 pm on a weekday as a single. If you want a 4some good luck you might get 4:00pm and will only get about 14 holes in.By the way it is Bethpage not Bathpage and the previous poster does not try hard enough because I live in Huntington and play the Black every month at the very least.I played it last Monday the 7th and it is set up for the NY open and it kicked my ass 90 and I thought I was playing fairly well.Make sure you call ahead to see it is open as they have Tourneys all summer long and will close it for a day.516-249-0700 and ask for operator and they will tell you.

I'm gonna try using the reserve system. I already registered my nys dmv number. I now have to wait 48 hours.

Does anyone know if international players can register on the Bethpage reservation system? Any experiences on this board? I'm looking to play in september and I have a DL and social insurance number (SIN numbers in Canada, not social security numbers like in the US). I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Reservation system is only for NY residents. So you'll have to come here early.
